S7 Forza 3 - IROC Tourney 9/29/11

Now that Season 3 of the Forza Championship Series is over... here comes a bonus tourney...

International Race of Champions S7 Tourney

For those of you unfamiliar with the IROC racing concept...

Drivers race identically-prepared stock cars set up by a single team of mechanics in an effort to make the race purely a test of driver ability. Traditionally, the cars were American made muscle-ish cars (except 1974) Dodge Daytona, Dodge Avenger, Pontiac Trans Am, Chevrolet Camaro. IROC, also, primarily raced ovals (we will not be, with the exception of R#).


One car from each of 8 classes (F, E, D, C, B, A, S, & R3)
- Cars will be basically stock with MINOR upgrades to improve them for racing (IE: Tires, Transmission)
- Each car will have an IDENTICAL (provided) tune set up
- YOU MUST OWN THE CAR
- Affordable cars so everyone can play

One race in each car
- 8 races total
- Point per race will be FCS points
- 1st 10, 2nd 8, 3rd 7, 4th 6, 5th 5, 6th 4, 7th 3, 8th 2
- This means its more about consistent finishes, not just one big win

Same paint jobs - See example below (Cars will be a base white with provided decals in your selected color)

From how I understand this, the cars and tracks will be chosen by popular vote and then will the tunes be generated by like Forza Tuner or something? No matter what, I'm in. This sounds like a really cool idea and I think it will be a ton of fun. I didn't get into the tourneys until the C/B class so I haven't really raced the slow a$$ cars and I bet they bring some entertainment value to the races.

basically yes... the cars will be identical... except the paint... its all on driver skill

and OC and Puppet please pick only one R# car....

like your favorite of the 3 you posted... the R# race will be either R1, R2, or R3...
but there will only be one R Class race

It would be nice to get at least 3 more racers so that we could field 8 "teams" but I guess it's still early.

Just an update, get to know your colors etc.

As for how final track/car picks will work... if there is a clear leader (ie E class, '90 Chevy Camaro IROC with 80% right now) then thats your winner.... if we have one with like A with 5 and B with 4... then it will be between those 2... a random 1-9 roll... A with odds and B with evens etc...


And again the sooner we have things finalized the sooner i can get your paints and designs out to you

Updated with all 6 current voters.... and Class E car winner... (so go buy it lol)

So if we buy the E class car, it's kind of pointless to equip it and tune it since we'll have a stock car and tune we'll be using. What advice do you have if we want to start practicing with it, especially since I haven't driven any car below a C class.

buy it stock... paint it white... drive it stock... get a feel for it...

the tune set up will only make it easier to drive... if you can handle it stock... you can handle it tuned

here is a basic idea of the Class E IROC Camaro...
