Headset
Alright, I know this is more of a 'general tech' type question. However, I'm specifically wanting a headset to use for my XBO with Destiny.
I'm aware of the options, have read reviews online (lol, useless) but am still undecided.
I want a good headset for the Destiny release. the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x's look pretty great... but don't release for over a month after Destiny drops.
This leaves me with either buying the headset adapter and having to move my current set of Turtle Beaches (x11's) between my PC and Xbox constantly, ORRRR I could pick up a pair of XO7's, which look fairly nice, despite mixed reviews.
Any experience with the XO7s (or XO4s) from the clan?

Re: Headset
If you have a good pair of non gaming headsets like the over hyped beats that have a detachable audio cord. I would buy this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BJ17WKK?cache=13bdddfb01e5e5081651afcbb2be1edc&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1408666260&sr=8-1#ref=mp_s_a_1_1
Boom mic and the adapter will probably be better than the xo s . the sound out of the controller is stereo only and not that powerful, u really almost need a headset amp imo. I won't buy tb's again. Also if you can find some good pc headsets get the adapter

Re: Headset
I have the 4O's and they work just fine, but I like the amped ones better and use my old TB41's with the headset adapter. I'm getting the 500x's when they drop, and if I was making a suggestion I would say just get the headset adapter and use something you have for a month or so until the totally wireless 500x's come out. You can even use your Sennheisers for sound and the Kinect for your voice if you want- it's not that bad at all (coolhand was doing it for weeks and I had no problem with it).

Re: Headset
KnightOwl has the XO7's and he seems very pleased. If you get bluetooth I suggest the 5 ghz so they won't interfere with anything. My 2.4 ghz get choppy when my laptop is open.

Re: Headset
I also have the XO7's and I like them just fine, not "OMG they're awesome" but "good enough to get the job done"...and I'm seriously considering upgrading to the new ones in October. I'm not an audiophile and they are my first gaming headphones so take my opinion for what it's worth. I can't say that they sound any better than the earbuds that came with my last cell phone.

Re: Headset
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think I'll go with millers advice. Use my current headset (or maybe even my senns) and wait for the 500x's to come out.
Are there any weird issues/things I'll need to do with the adapter to make sure it works consistently?

Re: Headset
From my experience, it doesn't matter how good the headphones/headset is when using the headphone adapter. Because the sound quality coming from the controller and adapter isn't all that great to start with. It is very functional but you're not getting hi-fi sound out of it. My advice is to go with something comfortable.

I haven't seen anything on this yet. It might just be wireless to the Xbox.

"No controller adapters, no cables, just completely wireless DTS Headphone..."
That's the line that has me sold on them.

That's pretty sweet, kinda like what my XP500s were like on the 360. Granted, I get pretty much the same setup on the PS4, but I have a chat cable to the controller.AtrumX wrote:"No controller adapters, no cables, just completely wireless DTS Headphone..."

Re: Headset
Yeah, I've been waiting for something that didn't use the controller headset adapter.
I think now I might just not bother buying the adapter at all and wait on these.

Re: Headset
I just saw this online. i started to do some more google searching lol.
"
The Ear Force Stealth 500X retains almost all of the features of the Z60, but drops the USB DAC and the 60mm drivers (it has wireless friendly 50mm drivers) in favor of a wireless experience, and checks in at $229.95. The 500X can be hooked up to a phone using a cable, but when it comes to the Xbox One, the headset completely eschews the controller. The wireless receiver uses USB for chat audio and optical (pass through) for game audio, allowing the user to be wire free. It has more sophisticated DTS presets as well. Like the Z60, it's a combination of new DTS Headphone:X 7.1 surround sound and the most refined current Turtle Beach headset features.

Re: Headset
Connected to a phone with a wire... odd they took a step backward there. Kind of minor but I do like answering phonecalls without removing my headset.

Actually, that is nothing like the same set up is a cable is involved, and it's much more like it was with the 360 than the PS4. That's what makes me want it is the no cables. I just don't like built in batteries, as on a night the battery dies I switch them out and am back into it. With the built in batteries, I'm back on a charger. Also, once the batteries get old, can you get a new one for the headset? My PS3 controller will not hold a charge and must be plugged in all the time, which is fine for a controller, but would suck for a headset (particularly for ones who's allure is that it's totally wireless). I'm pretty sure I'll get it if I can drop the $200+ for it. I may have to wait until after Christmas and hope on some Christmas loot to pay for them.

Re: Headset
By no cables, they mean no cables except the cables that they have because magically they don't count... lol I thought that it was going to use the wifi connection on the xbox to speak to the headset....S7 mrmiller wrote:S7 SockPuppet wrote:That's pretty sweet, kinda like what my XP500s were like on the 360. Re: Headset
I'm not sure if you're misreading the article or not.
The way they are saying the setup goes:
Headset - Sets on your head
Xbox - Has wireless transceiver connected, sends wireless signal to headset.
Soooo, that's about as wireless as it gets.

Re: Headset
Yeah not even a blue tooth dongle on the controller anymore like I had on the 360. Pretty d@mn cool. Only wire would be to use it with your phone, but that wouldn't stop me if I was in the market.

Re: Headset
I mean really how hard would it be to integrate a blue tooth receiver into the headset to allow your phone to integrate without a cord.
I was looking to upgrade the x400's but with out phone support wireless I don't think I will be buying right now.
