Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
yep thats the total amount for the setS7 SockPuppet wrote:Thanks for the info. I think Matt gave me a couple Cain items so I might not need all 4 made if I can keep the items I have.
For a recap, a total set (all 4 items) needs:
154 Essence (blue salvage)
50 fang (yellow salvage)
12,800 gold
keep in mind also that some classes can use the same set lik
Monk and Demon Hunter both will us the Dexterity set
Wizzard and Witch doctor both will us the Intelligence set
barb is the only one that will use strength...

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
My thoughts on D3.
PC version 7.5/10
Xbox version 10/10
I would say as far as RPGs go, Fallout 3 is still my favorite, but Diablo 3 is giving it a run. There is not a bad thing I can say about it except having to turn the game off. If you are on the fence about it go rent it at redbox for $2 and see for yourself.
$120 over two copies for 2 different battle.net accounts and now a third copy for Xbox 360 and I only regret not waiting for the console version.

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
Last night it was crazy how it was raining Legendary items. I lost track how many we found between me, Sticky, and Glock. One of the funny things was that about each one I found was better suited for Sticky's Barb and about each one he found was better suited for my Barb and we kept swapping items. That's one of the things that make the game so fun. Good times, and we are finished with Nightmare and into Hell Difficulty at level 50 (I'm 49, but will be 50 soon). One more to get to Inferno!

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
Man, I'm having a blast playing with you guys. I was kind of feeling bad about spending the money on this because it came out of the money that's going towards my XB1, but it's so worth it so far...and I still have plenty of time to save for the XB1. I might just have to cut out getting BF4, lol.
I've never been one to create many alts because it makes my progression much slower, but I have 3 characters through act I and made it through act II last night on my Demon Hunter. I guess I've always just like ranged characters better because just like in WoW, I'm having the most fun with the Hunter and Wizard.

I'll be passing on this one. I did enjoy D3 when I first played it on the PC (after having to get around all the launch issues), but it got old too quickly for me. It'll probably get just as old, just as quickly if I were to get the console version since I already know the layouts of most areas and I know what happens in the story.

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
I can see getting tired of going through areas again and again, and I might feel the same once I put in the time that some of you have on the PC, but playing with the clan guys and the constant rain of loot in this game keeps me engaged and from what I've heard from the PC guys the "loot 2.0" as they call it is WAY better than the system in place for the PC version. I don't know what it was like on PC, but I've been able to keep fairly well equipped with the stuff that has been falling for me.Xpert2010 wrote:I'll be passing on this one. Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
I just have a different perspective than most people in the clan I guess. I'm just not the loot-grinder type, and in the end, that's what Diablo 3 becomes. I just find no satisfaction in spending HOURS decking out a Barbarian with the best possible gear I can find and then what? Grind to deck out a Demon Hunter? I'm just not willing to put that kind of time into a game.

That's why I ended up not pulling the trigger. It would definitely be fun but I'm going to keep on my game hiatus until the XB1 launches.Xpert2010 wrote:I just have a different perspective than most people in the clan I guess. Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
In the end it is a loot grinder, just like Diablo 2 was. The big difference is being able to respec at will, which to me is a good thing. Some D2 fans didn’t like that, and cite the respec as one of the problems with D3. In the end, you just grind out a new character in D2 and it’s basically the same, so I don’t get that argument. The real problem, to me anyhow, is the auction house. You don’t grind for gear anymore; you just grind for gold and then go buy your gear. Or the gear you find you sell for gold so you can buy the gear you need. That wasn’t as much fun, as it was really just a job. The way they have improved drops (more class specific drops for your class of character, not to mention more frequent drops and better stats), and eliminated the AH, for the consoles make it so much more fun. Then again, I still play and enjoy the PC version, I just like this one much better. Plus, I need something to at the least fill the gap until November 22nd, and unfortunatley for Mass Effect, D3 will probably be filling the slot.

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
I powered through the first one, and am part way into #2, so this was a good time to take a break. Honestly, I liked the first one better than 2 so far, as it was more of an RPG. They almost seem like 2 differnet games if it wasn't for the characters.

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
Found my first Legenday plan last night! We played quite a bit, and about hour 2 the legendary items started dropping like crazy. I ended up with a very nice upgrade at level 53 that may take me all the way to level 60. Still grinding away to get to 60 and into inferno. I have a bad feeling its going to get a ton more difficult in inferno, and not just a gradual step up, so we shall see.

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
Breakdown of the difficulties. We played some on Master I last night and while it was more difficult, it wasn't anything that we couldn't handle. Knowing that it's the first difficulty that ramps up the stats it might be something to consider moving forward.
So basically there's no incentive to make it any harder unless you set it to Master I or higher. Might as well just play solo on Easy since doing solo on Master might be a little much.

yep i think it was stupid for them to add easy normal and hard in there as its not in the pc version but i can see how it could be a plus to some players that might get bored and want it to be a little harder with no added perksOneBadHuskerFan wrote:Breakdown of the difficulties. love how they named Monster Power Level(MPL) ((PC version )) is now Master's i think when u hit inferno this might hurt a little as on the PC version there is MPL 1-10 so the step up is not so bad but with master its like your starting off at MPL 5 going to add some crazy end game play... i for one cant wait to hit 60 and start playing and finding even more EPIC gear

Yeah, I think I'm going to focus on my Wizard as my main. I'm liking playing him a lot. Finished up Nightmare Act I last night at level 39 on medium, but I might as well have been playing on easy. I want to get him leveled up enough to where I can start running with you guys that have higher level characters. I figure when I'm running solo I'll just set it on easy and mow through everything until starting Inferno. There's really no point in making it more difficult if I'm not getting anything out of it. Inferno is where the "real" gear will drop so might as well not sweat it too much until then.S7 Sticky wrote:

It's strange, as the Magic Find and Gold find is like starting on Monster Power 5 on the PC, but the xp is like Monster Power 2 (You start at 100%, and gain 10% per Monster Power level up to MP10 for 200%, or twice the normal amount of XP). From what I also understand, the actually difficulty also increases exponentially on the new Master Levels. Master level 1 would be twice as difficult and by Master Level 5 is 5x as difficult! It appears that being able to play Master Level 1 gives a significant boost while not really becoming much more difficult, so it might be worth playing that as soon as you are able. My philosophy is just play Easy to go a bit "faster" in getting to where you can take on ML1, the grow from there.

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
I picked up the game yesterday and played all of act one on medium. Moving on to act 2 on easy. I can see why this game is like crack. I found 2 legendarys last night, a belt and a 2 handed sword. I chose a barb as my first character but deffinatly will start multiple characters. right now all I have is a barb lvl 15. Let the addiction begin.

Question for you guys that know...
Are legendary drops completely random regardless of who/where they drop? Or are there specific areas/bosses that certain items will drop?

as of right now there are very few legendary that drop in specific areas i can only think of 2.
other then that there are some legendary that the highest level the item can roll will limit finding them .... like if the top an item can go is lvl 15 then u wont find that item on Nightmare Hell or inferno

Roger that. Was just curious about future farming as I haven't seen anything in my research that specifies certain areas/enemies that certain drops come from (other than special stuff like the Staff of Herding).

Re: D3 on Xbox my thoughts
Champions and Elites (Yellow Individuals and Blue Packs) have a higher chance to drop better items. So that is what to look for when you farm- areas with a higher density of Champions and Elites. Most every area will have at least one of each. The Uniques (Purple) and Bosses don't necessarily drop better. They are supposed to on the first time you defeat them going with the campaign, but not every time after so as you can't simply farm the bosses.
