Re: Anime Discussion
I have a hard time accepting the fact that in Akame Ga Kill, somebody is going to die. The thought that goes through my head is along the lines of "It's alright, somebody is going to come by and save the day... anytime now... ok seriously where are they? Goddamnit!". The show is not like any of the other anime I have watched so far, I'm certain of that. The suspense is real.

Re: Anime Discussion
It appears that Akame Ga Kill may be straying away from the manga? It looks like the anime has caught up at a pretty rapid pace just from looking at the names of the chapters versus the names of the episodes. I wonder if they'll end up doing something like Full Metal Alchemist where they made up a story for the anime originally and then remade the series to stay true to the manga.
Also I noticed earlier today that yet another Dragon Ball Z movie has been announced with a subtitle along the lines of "Revival of 'F'" with Freeza being on the cover. This one has me curious. Freeza didn't have enough power to defeat Goku as a Super Saiyan, and now Goku has achieved Super Saiyan God. I really want to know how in the hell Freeza will gain enough power to actually make a good fight after being dead for so many years. lol

Re: Anime Discussion
Small Update: I have been gaming a lot more so my current anime list is smaller than normal.
Current series -
SAO2 - Up to date. Good stuff but the first half continues to be better than the second half of each season. I really liked the GGO stuff in the first half but I am continuing to enjoy season 2 in general. Solid so far.
Log Horizon - Slow to start but it's getting interesting. I really enjoyed Season 1 but Season 2 is solid so far.
Akame ga Kill - Really like this one so far. I am not fully caught up yet but I'm close. Good stuff.
Still finishing up from last season: Tokyo ESP, Terror in Resonance.
Dropping: Tokyo Ghoul - Can't stand the edited version that airs. Not good enough for me to warrant putting up with half-blacked-out screens every time some gets a paper cut.

Re: Anime Discussion
Akame ga Kill is probably my favorite right now.
Ace of Diamond is another solid show. Really good recent episodes.
Can't wait for Kuroko no Basketball to startup again.

OK i changed my mind lol i'm going to finish Naruto, I stopped at like episode 130. I really enjoyed it minus the fillers, but would like to complete it before starting another series.

Re: Anime Discussion
Original Naruto? If you're going to finish that, 100% definitely watch Naruto Shippuden. Basically, it takes place a few years later and everyone is significantly stronger. Animation is better, plot is more interesting. Somewhat less completely pointless filler (still some though).

Re: Anime Discussion
Yeah i've already seen the originals, i'm in shippuden now, Sasuke is just made his team. I've seen from day one of the genin exam to this point, so i've had my fill of fillers, lol but they seem to be sticking to the plot more now.

Yeah, you're in for a treat on the more recent episodes for Shippuden. It's not the best anime in the history of time or anything, but it's got some pretty epic stuff.

Re: Anime Discussion
Welp... Now that Akame Ga Kill has killed off my favorite characters, I think I can watch future episodes without having to worry about who is going to die, when they're going to die, and how they're going to die.
Also on my third run through HxH. lol. Whenever I just want an anime to watch and I've caught up on everything else, I just watch HxH 2011. I'd say it's definitely my favorite anime.

It's a solid choice. I'm rewatching FMA: Brotherhood again. Just as great as ever.Xpert2010 wrote:Welp... I'm also considering finally rewatching this one called Rahxephon. Haven't watched it since I think 2005. Mecha type anime with a very interesting story, I think. lol

Parasyte -the maxim-
If you're not watching it, I'd advise checking it out. Fairly unusual show. I wasn't sure about it at first but I've been enjoying it more each ep. I watch it on Crunchyroll.

Yeah, based on the other stuff you like - you'll really enjoy this one. I think with HxH done and some of my other anime on break this is my #1 to watch.

Re: Anime Discussion
I never watched it yet because I thought it looked odd from the screenshots. Does it fit in the action genre? If so, how is the gore/violence?

Re: Anime Discussion
It's a pretty unusual show. It definitely is action genre. Gore is moderate. It's not next level like Elfen Lied, but you see a lot of people cut in half, beheaded, etc. From what I can remember they generally cut to a new scene, change camera angles, or have the bodies shadowed after the initial 'cut'. So you'll see a swing, shocked look, maybe some blood spurt, and then it changes views to something else.
Like I said, it's weird but very interesting and has been getting better each episode.

ah k. Sounds kind of like Akame Ga Kill. I can be comfortable with a bloody anime if I have an idea of what I'm about to watch. For example, I decided to give Psycho Pass a watch once and witnessed the upper half of someone's body pretty much exploded after getting shot which completely caught me off guard. lol.
