Oh god! I am the worlds worst at this type of thing. Give me a little time and I'll try and come up with something.

Dragon Ball Z
-This is what really got me into anime. Its what sparked my interest and pretty much all i watched as a kid. Its got all you can ask for and for the most part the filler episodes didn't really get bad until Dragon Ball GT. Its got everything i love in a good anime. The powerups (although i could live without the minute long screaming, but its like letting the beat drop in a trap song) Drama, good vs evil, The strongest guy doesn't always win. Goku has been defeated on several occasions so you can't always rely on him to run in and save the day.
Naruto Shippuden
Another fanboy anime, but still to me a good one. I can admit the fillers suck in this, but this anime kept me interested and on my toes at points.
Kaze No Stigma
This one might not be as known to some, but its an anime about a guy who was outcasted from his family because he didn't have special powers. Well he ends up getting powers and they are bigger and better than anyone around. So he pretty much goes there and give them a big middle finger, then they have to ask for his help. Another shonen/power anime. But one of my favorites for sure.
I'm going to do a 4th one, because it was going to be my 3rd one, but i would have listed 3 that everyone knows about and of course usually likes,
Full Metal Alchemist
Talk about fillers, lol
Its still really cool, again theres a guy who can do the extraordinary and cast alchemy without using a transmutation circle. I like the drama and thoughts behind the whole world being a conspiracy theory that starts at the very top of the tower. Taking down the man, while working for the man. The characters get so emotional and evolve in the series its cool to see them just lose it.

Honorable mention...
Hunter x Hunter 2011
I kept up with the original HxH as it came out and it was good. Much like FMA: Brotherhood, HxH 2011 takes the plot WAY beyond the original series. True to the manga, this series is epic.
It also has what may be my single favorite moment in anime. Episode 131 makes the ENTIRE series worth it.
It's the quintessential buildup moment you wait for, but surprises you at the same time.
EDIT:: Well - I just went back and watched the part I was speaking of. It made me move the Honorable mention section to the top.
Do yourself a favor and watch HxH 2011 in its entirety.

This was the series that Really got me into anime. I had watched series on tv, some around the internet, etc.
The music is fantastic, the plot interesting, and the characters were believable.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
FMA:B is an intriguing story about a couple kids trying to cope with the consequences of their actions.
Lots of political intrigue, plot twists, and endearing characters.
Death Note
This was a tough call. Death note is essentially a battle of wits between the two main characters.
It's also much different than most of the anime I had watched up until its release. After Death Note I really branched out
Aside...
DBZ (any Dragonball really). I loved that show growing up, so it needed a plug here. DBZ Kai is a great, more reasonable series to watch.
Kai even changes the cell games so Mr. Satan doesn't waste entire episodes and is even... funny!?

#1 Gintama
Gintama is currently at the top of my list because it's such a diverse anime. The anime takes place in the era of the Samurai with the difference being the aliens, known as Amanto, have taken over. It has comedy, action, tearjerkers and more. Most of the anime is episodic, with some story arcs that happen every 50 episodes or so and usually last for six episodes (but they're really good). Most of the anime is comedy and I don't think I've ever laughed as much watching something as I have this anime. If you are very familiar with Japanese anime, culture and people, you will understand a lot of the jokes. And if you're watching on Crunchyroll, the subtitles will explain what jokes are referencing to most of the time. There are over 300 episodes in this anime, so it is quite the commitment, but I definitely recommend giving it a shot (watch at least 16 episodes because it may start off slow). A new season was recently announced, and the last few arcs were really epic! Cannot wait to continue this one!

#2 Hunter x Hunter
I have watched this anime at least five times over already, and with it being 148 episodes and has been finished for just over two years (holy sh1t, already?), you can probably tell how much I enjoy this anime. You won't find any filler in this series (minus two recap episodes), which I find impressive for an anime of this size and genre. You're introduced to the 12 year old boy named Gon who wants to find his father who is known to be a Hunter. You may think that it sounds silly, but once the story gets going and you realize what people who take on the title of "Hunter" are capable of, you won't want to put this anime down. Character development is really great too, especially in the Chimera Ant arc, which is one of the last arcs in the anime. Definitely watch it if you like action/adventure/super power anime.
#3 Attack on Titan
It took me awhile to hop on the Attack on Titan train, mainly because I am not into gruesome stuff. When I heard Attack on Titan was a story about humans living in a contained space surrounded by giant humanoids called Titans which feed on humans, I was very discouraged. Watching the first episode, I felt a bit sick to my stomach, but I enjoyed the suspense. Despite me not liking gruesome scenes, I love this anime. The anime is 25 episodes long, so it's very short and I recommend watching it. The next season will be starting up in Spring 2017!
