Hit me up with any questions or tip you might need. There is stuff I am still figuring out now.

Will do, might try to play some tonight or tomorrow night. I'm pretty stoked after reading the reviews and watching the videos.

Watched the intro and was reminded to install the discs. I know I could wait and do the second one later but I'd rather be a good little doobie and get the install all done. I plan on putting in a couple hours and will post first thoughts/impressions in the morning. 15gb for the install is rough, this game better be good.

I can only do one disc as I still have an old 360 that doesn't even have enough room to fit both, lol.

Yeah, I have plenty of room but I still only installed 1 disk. that was all I could stand. I'll install the 2nd disk once I get to it.

Re: Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
From what I read on a couple reviews about to install or not to install, many people did the first disc and when they get to the second one they save, back out, install disc two and then get back in the game. Supposedly once you switch to disc 2 you stay on that disc until the end of the game, so you really only need to install one disc at a time. It's not supposed to be back and forth like ME3. I had the room and just wanted to get the game completely set because I didn't want to have to stop playing for like 20 min when it comes time to switch discs.

Re: Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
So I have a small collection of like 8-10 mutagens and I'm not sure exactly how to use them. I read a little bit about them on the wiki site and they suggest trying to use only greater ones, something about not being able to have more than so many or something.
Anyway, I'm not exactly sure how to use them and when is a good time to apply them. I have like 2 or 3 that are greater and I'd like to put them to use, but I'm not completely sure how to do that.

Re: Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Unfortunately this one had to get sent back to gamefly after I tried again for a few more hours and just couldn't get used to the camera. Seems that I'm the only one that had a bad enough time with it to have it effect the game.
Awesome though that you guys are loving it.

Sorry that it didn't work out for you. I did have some issues with fighting groups of enemies and having to get used to how the camera whips around pretty quickly so that I could spread out the beatings across multiple opponents but like Zak said, after playing with it a bit the higher learning curve levels out and things start to feel natural again. I just had to start planning my moves a bit quicker (with the camera) and start the hitting the buttons for the attacks on the 2nd, 3rd, etc. opponent a little faster so that I was starting to attack as the camera swung into place. Overall, I'm glad that the DotD post was made and I was "convinced" to get the game because I love it.

The #1 reason I use gamefly. If I don't like a game or don't feel like playing it for reasons like this I don't have to feel bad that I just spent $60 on it and can just send it back for another.

Mutagens are used in alchemy for making potions. I never really got into this until the end of my first play through when I really needed to start using potions. Find some potion diagrams start making some while in meditation. The diagrams will tell you what ingredients you need. If you have the right stuff, you can make the potion. Potions can be very helpful in a tough battle. I will be doing more alchemy on my second play through, that's for sure.

Re: Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Gotcha. So when you get all of the components for a potion you add the mutagen as an additional component? I'll have to play around with this.
