Witcher 3 Screens
Following the official announcement that the Witcher 3 is coming for next gen system, today we get a slew of all new screenshots. This game is already looking amazing. Here are some things I have found out so far:
- 50 hrs for the main quest, 50 hrs for side quests. (100 hrs total)
- Open world 20% larger than Skyrim
- It takes about 30-40 mins to travel across the map on horse.
- No load times while traveling the map
Here are the newly released screens. Enjoy...

Very nice pics. This game looks to be even better than witcher 2 .

Very nice. I guess I should play Witcher 2 before 3 launches.

I had originally got the game from GF but I had to eventually send it back due to lack of funds. I beat it once but always intended to go back and beat it again (everything from the second act on changes dramatically depending on a choice you make). It was something I always regretted. Fortunately I just bought a copy (funds are better today). I can't wait to play it again. Great game.
The Witcher world is deep and engrossing. Hell, I even set off to read the books after playing it and I don't ever do that. I would definitely recommend playing the Witcher 2 if you get a chance, mostly cause it's a great game.

Re: Witcher 3 Screens
If I have no previous experience with the Witcher series, would I be at all lost? Or is it similar to the Elder Scrolls games, where there are references to previous games - but nothing really 'crucial' to enjoying the game.

Re: Witcher 3 Screens
Well, there is some confusion as to whether or not this is a sequel or prequel but regardless you would be fine to jump in where ever. I started with the Witcher 2 and don’t really know what happens in the first game but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. I am sure you could do the same with 3. Plus, the Witcher 2 had a nice little animated video to start the game and give you an idea of what was going on with the story so far. I assume something similar will be done with 3.
Also, it’s one of those games that just drops you into the world without a lot of explanation. The Witcher world is really deep and hashed out through 5 novels and 2 collections of short stories before the games ever take place. The politics and kingdoms are established in those books and never really explained in any detail in the games. The game just assumes you are smart enough to keep up. So whether you start with 2 or 3 probably makes little difference. I’d still recommend playing 2 if you get a chance, just cause it’s awesome.

Hmm... given that I have the new baby and less time for MP (more for SP) I might have to pick it up.

Sometime I need to get back and finish Witcher 2, maybe after I get thru one of my characters in SKYRIM!!! The screenshots for the 3rd one look pretty good and if it lives up to how huge and open it is there should be tons of fun had.
