S7R Forza 4 D-Class Tourney - Season 1

The second round of the Forza Championship Series brought us even closer to a full 16 car field. Thirteen (13) members showed up ready to roll part of the most competitive racing action in the clan's history. We welcomed more new faces and had another strong showing from the clan veterans. If you've been thinking about joining us, the D-Class tourney is just around the corner help us reach our goal of a full sixteen (16) car field.

Forza News -

Thursday, February 2nd marked the second event of Forza 4's first season. By far, the most competitive racing in S7 Forza history. Thirteen members showed for the event, including first timers BloodRusted and HuskerFan, along with SockPuppet making it to his first tourney of the year. It did not take long for the newer racers to make an impact with BloodRusted running away with the first event and scoring his first of two race wins on the evening (#1 Iberian Full Reverse and #7 Fujimi Kaido). Interseptor won races #2 and #3 (Rally di Postino and Sedona Club Reverse). Atrum took race #4 at Camino Veijo Mini to notch his first victory of the season.

Race #5 at Tsukuba's Short Track was a shining example of how close, clean, and competitive S7 racing can be. The top 6 cars were within a couple of seconds the entire race with Lickwid Apex coming away with his first career win.

Another one of the highlights of the night took place during Race #6 at Sunset Peninsula on the track's Club version. Early on, OC lead the field looking for a strong finish when an incident, set off by Wiggles, sent OC spinning in front of the field. Cars stacked up behind OC and his race ended early. Wiggles went to win the race.




At the end of the night, Interseptor posted 2 wins and 4 podiums finishes to claim 1st place and the E-Class title. Second place went to Wiggles with a win and 4 podiums as well. Bloodrusted had a strong first showing edging out LickwedApex by a point for 3rd. HuskerFan came home in 5th. Atrum's first win of the season earned him the 6th position, followed by Riff Raff 7th, Epic 8th, Kenny 9th, Racecar 10th, Sockpuppet 11th, Coolhand 12th and OC 13th.

Now, its on to the S7R Forza 4 D-Class Tourney - Season 1. It's time to get to work and start building/tuning your D-Class Cars. Drivers will have till Thursday, February 16th to build, tune and test their cars at which point we will meet up and see who has what it takes to win. More cars and more options will definitely have us all scrambling to find our best chance at victory.

The rules are pretty simple and as follows:

This is a Championship Tourney so the event will be 7 races.

Date: Thursday February 16, 2011
Time: Racing starts at 8:30pm sharp Eastern Time
Car Class: D-Class
Damage: Simulation
Collisions: Always On
Starting Grid: Random
Tracks: Random - Player based
# of Races: 7
# of Laps: TBD(depending on track length)

S7 Members ONLY!

The winner will be decided by points base on where you finish each track. The person with the most points will be the D-Class Champion for Season 1. Your overall placement will go towards your season standing and results will be added to the Official S7 Forza Stats Thread. Forza: All Time Stats

Fixed.... at least i got one of them right...

Hope my net doesn't drop again. Was a real shitter to miss the first two races, especially on tracks where my car would've been very strong.

I seriously can't wait for the next Tourney! This has been the best season of racing we have ever had and it's just getting started. Forza is pwning my soul.

d@mn! OC just got GRAPPED IN THE MOUTH! I thing about half of the cars hit him at some point during that. I was on the inside and had nothing to do with the wreak at first but then someone in front of me slowed down, I hit them and someone behind me clipped my tail and I got shot into OC by the end of it. (Watch the video and you'll see my Del Sol come in out of nowhere adn nail OC after he was already spun out). Sorry about that OC, I had no control and I was probably the killing blow for you.

Back on the topic of the D-Class Tourney. Anyone find anything good to race yet? So far I am liking the Alfa Montreal and the Mazda MX-5 Roadster (the newer one).

Haha, that nasty t-bone at the end was me driving right into him and ruined my car, lol. I thought I had room in the inside to drive through the dirt and at the last second he got turned in front of me. I went from excited at first thinking I would make it through to totally bummed because having to continue the whole race with a smashed car is no fun, lol.

That's the way I felt on that last race, thought I could find an opening in the crash but that track was way to narrow. Then trying to make it up that mountain to finish was brutal, at least I could get some speed heading down so it wasn't all 2 mph, lol.

Tourney was fun, I think I got through that wreck mostly undamaged. Just had to go way off into the grass to avoid everything.

That Tsukuba race was fun as hell. I just had so much grip around the corners I could get up the inside every time and then keep it...as you saw when I was defending it from Atrum.

Wiggles, you suck for skidding at that last turn and missing how close the end was.

Ugh, that whole race I was just waiting for a chance to get ahead and let my car fly but it didn't happen, then I hit that corner before the straight wrong and here comes epic... Very close/good race though.

@ Wiggles - Haha, good job I was the massive distance of 30 ft behind.

I totally clipped that guard rail trying to take a fast line through which slowed me and caused you to ram my back bumper, so my bad on that. Sorry it ended your race.

I can't participate in the weekly races but I have bought and built some D class cars if anyone wants to test and tune. I have also built myself a new stand for my racing wheel and want to get back into racing since I havnt played forza since MW3 came out. Hit me up I will see you online!

Hmmm, this has really piqued my curiosity. I'll be good to race since I'm off that night and the next morning so I'll have to get some cars together to throw at OC.
