Game of Thrones season 6 [Spoilers]

Game of thrones season 6 starts tonight. I can't wait for this.

AWWWW yeah. Can't wait to see how this season goes.

For the casual fans out there, this season is pretty significant as it marks the TV series departure from following the books.
They've been allowed to make some creative changes throughout the series, but we'll now likely be getting content AHEAD of where the books are (for some plot lines anyway)

And they've been renewed for the 7th, and what should be final, season after this one.

Given the pacing, it seems unlikely to cleanly wrap up with just 1 more season. Unless it were an unusually long one.

Unless HBO changes their plans. A couple seasons ago Martin tried selling HBO on 10 seasons and a movie and the producers told him 7 seasons was all.

According to Cinemablend.com (before last season):

Martin points out that from the beginning, show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss made it clear they wanted seven seasons. Not only that, he said HBO told him up front (and repeatedly since) that they “want this to run ten years." Then there is the potential of one or more feature films, which the author “enthusiastically endorsed,” but can neither confirm or deny.

That being said, a couple months later HBO stated they think it might end in 8 seasons, with Season eight being "supersized" with some extra episodes.  They say that two of the remaining books take place during the same time, following different characters, so that will allow them to combine the books for one season.  They also mentioned the potential for a prequel following the previous battle for the throne.

And then HBO realize how successful this was and the producers of GOT no doubt renegotiated to receive blank checks & master keys to the kingdom.

Awesome first episode. I would be shocked to see it go only 7seasons. Pacing would have to really pick up this season and rush plot lines.

Solid 1st episode for sure. Excited for it to be back.

As for what is left... I just recently read that they are looking to do about 14 more episodes total (after this season). Talks are about doing 2 more seasons (of 7 each I guess). They also said is was really hard to do 10 episode season due to the high production values. I guess we'll see but I'd rather have one last 14 episode season than 2 smaller ones. It's already hard to wait a year for 10 episodes.

Agreed. So glad it returned last night!

It was a good episode, but I hope they get even better. I thought this one was a little slow since they were catching everyone up a little on what happened last year.

So it looks like with the flashback that Bran is having the R+L=J Theory is possibly coming into play.

They couldn't hide it enough outside of the set that John Snow was coming back. So we all knew it was going to happen, i myself didn't think it'd happen this early in the season. I'm just curious if its going to be the same John Snow that left or if its going to be some scatter brained lord of fire zombie. We will see...

Arya still has a chance at being a badass, so glad they didn't just push her aside this season.

Is Tyrian going to be one of the 3 dragon handlers? I just assume there will be 2 people to control the smaller of the 3 dragons. Since only one person can "control" a dragon at a time. I read that in an article somewhere that pertained to the show i don't know if they made an actual reference to it or not.

Lastly, the mountain is still a bad mother! First he squashes a mans face like a grape. then he explodes another person's head into a wall?!?! d@mn! Just let him take care of the High Sparrows himself.

I do wonder if we'll be seeing the Clegane bowl or not.

Great episode can't wait to see the Stark vs Bolton battle. Very curious to see if Bran gets in on that some how. When do the dragons get out?

I think in the very near future. Tyrian will feed them and gain their trust then let them out thinking he can control them.
I bet they reek havoc and tear sh!t up and then everyone hates him. This is just a wild guess though. lol

i think Tyrian may let the dragons out sooner than later in hopes they'd find Khaleesi

I believe Tyrian real father is a Targaryen and will be able to control one of the dragons. Remember his late so called father said he was no son of his. One thing I like about GOT they drop hints and clues throughout all the seasons with bits of info, hard to remember it all. John Snow is the third.

Very interesting, Dany, Jon and Tyrion all siblings.

If true, Jon will have a Dragon and a Wolf. He wins the Game of Life! f#ck the throne.

There are a lot of interesting theories out there, I wouldn't mind those three being related (they're not siblings though)
I'm doubtful about Tyrion though, that's a stretch at this point.

I'm most interested in the wall. I think Jon and Bran are going to have some type of epic reunion and then have to fall back as winter really comes to Westeros.

Everyone has all these intricate theories, but things are going to have to get CRAZY real quick with the white walkers. Whenever those episodes come along, it'll be massive all out war sweeping down across the land. Can't wait for those eps.
