Game of Thrones season 5 Starts sunday

Season 5 premiere is Sunday. I can't wait it should be epic. If you have an iOS device you can download the new HBO now (cable subscription not needed). It's $12.99 a month but you can get one month free for signing up now. Apple has a 90day iOS only lock on this system right now but it will eventually be more widely available (Andriod,Xbox,ps4....)

HBO is writing their own version now and deviating from the books. I'm excited to see what they come up with.

They've always deviated from the books. That's totally fine with me though. George Martin had trouble keeping track of his own characters by book 4 and has said looking back he wished he could make a lot of changes. HBO is working closely with him so I imagine any changes they make will have his blessing and still follow the story he intended.

Definitely excited to see what the writing team does working with him to make the newest season even better!

Plus it allows for more intrigue and surprise. Now even those who read the books don't know what to expect. It's absolute chaos in a good way!!

Yes Klown if you already have HBO through cable then use HBO go for free. If you don't have cable at all or just not HBO then you can subscribe to the new HBO now.

Or you find a buddy who will let you share his hbo go XD

Right, that's pretty much what I meant but I was reading that this season will be more of a departure than the previous seasons. To the point that some might get a little pissed about it, which sounds great to me because I like the books and the show(except for the omission of Strong Belwas). They've got the ending from GRRM but will arrive there differently than he plans. Can't wait.

Ahh! Yeah I missed Strong too. To be honest, no one should be mad if the tv series makes improvements. I read an interview where George said he was glad for the GoT Wiki because he doesn't have a good system for tracking where his characters are and what they're doing so he references that all the time. lol

So this season has been kinda of "meh" for me but it's finally starting to pick up with the last few episodes. Not sure what it is exactly either. The stories are interesting but this season lacks the punch and pacing or previous season IMO. Still, the last 2-3 episodes are finally picking up. What you do you guys think? I miss our weekly discussions of the show.

I've enjoyed the season so far. It's definitely been picking up as expected.
The most recent episode was epic. Extremely epic.

I agree that the pace has been slow. Last night though? d@mn that was good! Somebody need to get their hands of a shitload of Valyrian steel.

I've like the stories so far. It has been slow to set up a lot of stuff but last night puts every thing else in that world into perspective. It doesn't matter who is king or queen if they can't stop that soon.

yeah, last night was walking dead meets 300. I saw them all looking back at the swirling snow and was like "Finally...here we go" and I was NOT disappointed.
