Game of Thrones
General discussion for Game of Thrones here. Be warned there will be Spoilers Ahead. Best to not check this thread unless you have seen the latest episodes.
Onward!!!
Did anyone see last nights episode? Cause D@NM! Specifically the very end of the episode cause I just sat there with my mouth open as the credits rolled. Another amazing episode from an amazing series. And I found it especially good as you have been shown a softer side of Jamie's character for the last few episodes. Like last week when he relates to Brienne and tells her "you can't choose who you love" referring to him and his sister and then again when he "saves" Brienne from being raped. You actually start to feel for his character and the BAM! No more left hand for you! EPIC stuff.

Re: Game of Thrones
I'm currently listening to the books during my long commute, and I'm really impressed with the conversion to TV. From what I understand the 3rd season is only going to be the 1st half of the 3rd book.
I really like Jaime's "journey", and the more compassionate side that's being showed. And Brienne is a likable character...
I love the unsullied set up with Danny; that's gonna be epic...
The John Snow/Night's watch arc is pretty revealing.
The scenes with Tyrion and his fam are almost heartbreaking. That dude can't get a break.
The book takes the Catlain Stark Chapters and mixes them between her and Rob in the show, but you get the general idea of things.
Arya is one of my favorite characters, but in the book she's a little colder, and more skilled at the point they are at in the show.

Re: Game of Thrones
Danny is about to tear sh1t up. That guy is going to regret this trade. sh1t is about to get real and I am betting that Danny takes the Unsullied and immediately kills everyone and takes back her dragon. Cause there is no way she is going to part with a dragon for any price. They are basically her children. Danny is definitely one of my favorites in the show and I am pulling for her to take it all in the end.
Arya is also a favorite of mine. I can't wait till she starts to become a bad ass. She's got a 'list' and needs to start getting to work. Also, can't wait till her wolf returns. You know it's going to happen. Calling it now.

Re: Game of Thrones
Um, it was the right hand Zak
This season is pretty sweet. I think it will be pretty interesting to see what Tyrion does with his hands in the cookie jar. There's no better power than knowing where the money is and isn't and I think Tywin made a huge mistake giving control of the city coffers to the kid he loathes. I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrion contacts the bankers and makes some kind of deal that sells out King's Landing and his family or let's them know they should call in the loans. So many devious things the half man could do with his knowledge.

Re: Game of Thrones
I...can't...say...anything...mainly 'cause I'm finishing the 3rd book now...and this season will only be 1/2 of the 3rd book...Season 4 will be the other 1/2.
But I will say, so far, I'm not disappointed with what I've seen so far, and you guys will not be disappointed in this season. A lot of big things...Martin does not pull punches, as you can tell so far.

Re: Game of Thrones
Spoilers for "...His Watch has Ended"
Called it! And what a great scene it was. Dany stole the show and it was everything I hoped for. What a fantastic scene to end the episode on. Not sure if she can go all the way but I feel sorry for anyone who attacks her now. In the end, 8000 soldiers will not be enough aginst the bigger armies but 3 bad ass dragons will help even the odds a bit. I am pulling for Dany to take it all in the end. Should be fun to watch.
What I didn't see coming was the scene with the Night's Watch. d@mn! That went to hell fast. Although I bet the 'bastard' wished he had kept a few sons around for protection now. I mean, let's see, your a fat old man with like a 100 daughters and no real form of protection. Now let starve and piss off a rag tag army of men who have just went through hell. Seemed like a good idea right? I hope piggy and his girlfriend are going to be ok. Having a screaming baby is probably not the best way to hide though. I expect for him to finally have a heroic scene, or have his ass saved by ghost... again. Either way should be fun to watch.

Re: Game of Thrones
It was a great episode. Everyone got what they wanted with the dragons. I almost felt bad for Jaime with his hand hanging around his neck, almost.
All this "Lord of the Light" business is getting pretty sketchy.
Also, Lady Margaery is awesome.

Re: Game of Thrones
I agree, a great episode, and of course you could see why I couldn't comment. Love that scene with Danny. I had as much anticipation as I did when I read the book...cause even then you could feel it coming. Danny is a true bad ass, and a true Targaryen.
Even that "Night's Watch" scene in the book took me off guard. It was crazy.
With regards to NW, one of the biggest diff between show and book so far is that Ghost stays with John when he's with the wildlings and Sam actually kills a Waight (sp) with dragon glass to save himself. So he displays some "bravery" before last night's scene.
As far as King's Landing in the book, both Geoffrey and Margery are loved by the people almost immediately. Tyrion looks much worse, and Shae isn't as strong willed. Petyre Balish is more of a son-of-a b1tch. Yes, he can be more of an SOB that we've seen in the show. Sansa was treated much worse by Geoff in the second book...beaten daily and more severely.
Theon isn't shown in the 3rd book. So these scenes must be created from scenes in Books 4 and 5.

Sorry, was bugging me lol.
Yes, the night's watch business was crazy. Kill the disgusting, crazy guy. Sure - I like it. But then everyone goes crazy and starts killing each other... that scene was insane.

Margerie for the win:
Step 1: Marry Geoffry and become queen.
Step 2: Get Sansa to marry your brother, uniting their families.
Step 3: Kill Geoffy and Rob Stark.
Step 4: Make your brother Warden of the North
Step 6: Kill Tywin and make Tyrion Lord of Castley Rock and Hand of the King (or Queen in this case)
Step 5: Unite the armies of the Lannisters, Starks, and King's Landing and clear out any riff raff, including you're homegirl Dany.
Step 6: RULE THE WORLD!
