Level 20!

Like you've said before, there's a learning curve that couldn't be explored in the alpha/beta because you only got to lvl 8.  On your second char, you know when it's wise to upgrade something and when it isn't.  Also, depending upon your class, you can have hand me down weaps that are already upgraded and possibly armor too.

For me it's more about the required parts.  On my Lock, I need a helmet to complete my progress and hit lvl 30.  This particular part is only available on the Hard mode of the Raid making it much more rare and hard to obtain.

For my Alt Hunter, I have the Exotic helm I really like.  So the helm is no long a requirement and therefore NOT locked behind the Hard Raid.  This means it will be much easier to achieve 30 with my Alt.

Farmed the public events and between rewards and gear I broke down I got 13 of the 14 shards I needed to hit lvl 29.  As it stands, one shard gets me the second to last upgrade on my raid gloves and gets me to 111 light and just into lvl 29.  Almost got The Last Word leveled up too.

Got the shards I needed on last nights raid to hit lvl 29, now I just need raid chest and boots to work for 30 and to get my weaps me leveled up.  Might be time to start working on an alt, since I've got dups of some good exotic weaps and some other decent gear.

Do it!  Nothing like being able to double Raid if you get the time.  Use your Main for Hard and the Alt for Normal runs.

Congrats Husker, glad I could be there for your big moment!

Started the alt grind on my second Warlock since there really wasn't anyone up to anything tonight.  Got him up to just shy of lvl 7 and transferred over some old ships, banners and a speeder to give the guy a little hand me down flash.  Almost completed Earth (got like 1 mission and the strike) and have the first mission on the moon ready.  

This character is gonna be stacked for weaps once I get to lvl 20, now I just need to hold on to some armor that my primary picks up and I'll be able to start off with a decent amount of light and jump levels quickly.

Motoring thru my raid helm and chest.  Got back up to lvl 28 and I'm closing back in on lvl 29.  At Zak's advice, I've changed my weap leveling priorities and am working on getting some weaps upgraded that will help more in the raid.

Leveled my raid helm so all I need now on my primary is to keep leveling my weaps and to get some raid boots.  Might even start using my primary to continue unlocking the upgrades on the armor from my vault.  I also need to buy or find a solid legendary secondary (preferably void for the raid) so I can ditch the blue backups I have to my legendary fusion rifle and Ice Breaker.    

Pretty much time to put my alt into overdrive.  He's at lvl 9 and I have 2 raid and 2 legendary armor that have enough light to get him to lvl 26 immediately after he hits 20.  I've also got a good set of starter legendary and exotic weapons to gear him up, just need to grind to 20.

Got my alt to lvl 17 tonight.  Seem to be getting the best bang for my time with Crucible and the Crucible bounties.  I'm picking up about 2400 XP per match, win or lose, and not including anything I get from bounties.  

Hopefully I'll be able to get a little time tomorrow or Monday night to finish the last 3 lvls and then I can start leveling his light gear, weaps, and be ready for a second run each week for the hard raid starting with this next week (trading out gear with my primary, until his gear is ready).

Thanks Kenny for the Exclusion Zone tip, gathered the 15k in about 1.5hrs and was able to buy 2 pairs of IB boots.  So, all I need for my primary is like 94k XP and some mats to level my boots.  I've got more than enough shards and managed to keep enough light equipping my new boots so that I'm still 29 with them.  

For my alt, I need like 40k XP (I think) to hit lvl 20 then I can start equipping and leveling my lvl 30 gear.  I think the base light for the gear I have will jump my alt from 20 to 26 with no upgrades.  Got a bunch of weaps for him too so probably this weekend I'll get back to leveling my alt so I'll have two characters for raiding.   I won't necessarily need any gear for my characters but I'll still need ascendant mats for my weaps and alt's gear and I can hopefully help others to get what they need.

Got my alt to lvl 20, geared him up and now he's 26.  Need to finish the story, or at least unlock up thru Mars, so I can farm mats to level my gear.  Need to get my alt some better secondary weaps, namely a sniper, but otherwise he's ready to start crusin' the weeklies/nightfall/raid.

Got my first character to 30.  Still working on weaps and then on to getting my second character to 30.  Probably will be lucky to get the first one 100% before the DLC, due to the 6-days I'll be on now.

WOOT!!!!!!!!  I GOT MY HELM!!!!  Hit the Raid a few times yesterday and I got the Helm I needed for my Main.  Level 30, here I come.

P.S.  I also got the Gloves I needed so I will be able to swap out with any of my exotics and still be 30!

Well done sir.  So we should have a handful of chars ready for the new normal raid next week.  Sucks that I'll have to wait until the weekend.

Well done!  Thought I was going to get my alt to 30 before you but it looks like once again work is going to steal my thunder.

Got my alt to 29 last night.  I need shards, mats and glimmer to level his helm and shards, mats, glimmer and like half of the last upgrade opened for my chest (excluding the exotic upgrade if I want to get that).  

I'll probababy try to finish him up during the week if I get the time since I won't be able to get the DLC until payday on Thursday.  Just remembered my parents are in town for my daughter's 2nd birthday next weekend so my DLC raid time may be limited.  We'll see.

Ran a Titan grind tonight, cleared a couple story missions, played like 3hrs of Crucible and cashed in a combo of like 8-10 Vanguard and Crucible bounties. Allowed me to move the needle from about halfway thru lvl 13 to just into lvl 18.

Hopefully after the raid tomorrow I'll be able to knock out the other 2 lvls so I can start grinding endgame gear. Looks like I have unleveled gear that's worth about 95 light so my Titan should jump immediately to like 28. That will be good enough to VoG or possibly to be carried thru the Nightfall/Weekly/Daily. I'll also need to finish the story missions, but I'll probably use those for easy XP to level my gear.

Finished grinding my Titan to 20. Must have thought a piece of Hunter gear was Titan because I've got a blue chest and he's only lvl 26. Still not bad to go from 13 to 26 in a couple hours. Now I've to finish story, bet better gear, and level the gear and weaps.
