EA ANNOUNCES SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE ON XBOX ONE: EA ACCESS
Today, EA revealed EA Access, an Xbox One-exclusive subscription service that grants players access to EA's so-called Vault.
Subscribing to EA Access will cost $4.99 a month (or $30 a year), and since the program is technically in beta, only four games will initially be available: FIFA 14,Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2, and Battlefield 4, "with more titles being added soon."
----------------------
my thoughts are meh right now im not going to pay 30 bucks a year just for battlefield 4 (own the game)
now later on when they come up with alot of games i might want to pay heck ill put 5 bucks in eat the achievements and stop lol =)

Re: EA ANNOUNCES SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE ON XBOX ONE: EA ACCESS
This might not be as good as it seems...
Basically, it sounds like $4.99 a month for demos of EA games.

EDIT: That may only apply to the early access? Perhaps full games are available from launch? Sounds interesting enough to keep an eye on.
Joystiq wrote:Keep in mind, there are caveats to this promotion. EA describes that early access as a "a limited trial," and not access to the full game. Further, according to the fine print, Titanfall is "excluded from all EA Access features," and given the service's mention of unlimited online play, it stands to reason that an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for full use of EA Access.

Considering it's EA I'm not too excited about it. Will be interesting to see how it plays out though.

Not sure what you guys are reading. $30/year gives you demos of games 5 days before release to try them out, 10% off those new releases, and then full retail versions of their "vault" games. The full games right now are only FIFA 14, Madden 25, Peggle 2, and Battlefield 4 but Madden, for example, still costs $30 which is the entire annual price for the subscription. I hate EA so much but it looks like a great deal to me.

Yeah I'll have to research a bit on this but I don't think it's that bad I can play madden and bf4 plus the other games for $30 a year. Again more research is needed

For me this is just one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" things. If it's true that you'll be able to play the full retail versions of the "vault" games with no conditions added then $30 isn't bad at all. I just have a hard time believing that EA isn't hiding something in there somewhere.

I'd also like to point out that this basically confirms pre-loading coming very soon for the Xbox One. If you can pre-download and trial the new EA games 5 days early then there's no reason to think we won't be able to pre-load all games very soon.

It isn't pre-downloading, it is an early-access demo. Buying the game when it comes out won't "unlock" it.
Re: EA ANNOUNCES SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE ON XBOX ONE: EA ACCESS
Bought a year of EA Access last night and downloaded all the games. For some reason there is an error that says Battlefield is in the vault but not free and after bitching and moaning for about an hour with EA, they gave me a $15 MS code (don't know why EA can credit me with MS money lol). Also turned in my Battlefield and FIFA discs for $55 at Gamestop which I then used to buy MS codes.
So for $30, I received Madden, Peggle 2, and $70 of xbox marketplace money that will be used toward Destiny. Not bad!
