I agree it does have an MMO feel to it but to me it feels like a hybrid. The story section feel much higher quality than most MMO's I have seen. Much closer to Halo IMO. Fully voice acted, good music and good production values. It's not just click, click, click... get reward. Also the inclusion of 6v6 PvP feel like a traditional MP to me as well. Still, I am very interested to see how the end game goes as well. That is going to be a big part of how well this game does. Still, overall it feel like something a little different to me. I also like how the world is populated with other players but not 100's of them at the same time. That is one thing that always bothered me about traditional MMO's.

I could have used a person or two more when my first (and only) public event happened. There were only 2 of us to try and take down the Devil Walker and were super close to getting him down when the timer ran out.

played about and hour worth of the pvp some cool maps was very fun trying to get my rep up to unlock the 2nd stage

We ran into that even too. One other random started shooting at it but he was too low. It eventually got away. We took its shields down for a bit, but they recharge very quickly if no one is doing any damage - he ran quick to hide behind cover.

Looks like the issue is known. I can't read the article because game sites are blocked here. Wondering if game chat works instead if you never mess with the party chat app.

We are tracking an issue were players may lose voice functionality in Xbox One Party Chat if the Party app is unsnapped. To avoid this issue, please form your Xbox Live Party before launching the Destiny Beta, and avoid using the Party chat app in-game. If you wish to chat only within your fireteam, Destiny provides its own Fireteam voice chat functionality, so you can bypass any Party Chat issues by switching your party into Game Chat mode, or by disbanding your Xbox Live Party entirely. Please note that in-game chat functionality is only available to Fireteam members.

Fear not, we are working hard to resolve this issue in the final shipping game. Please pardon our dust, and thanks for helping us test Destiny!

You can join a player’s fireteam without forming a party by choosing the “Join Game” option from that player’s Gamercard.

Enjoyed a Heroic strike run with Coolhand and a random on our level 8 characters and then started up a new Titan and ran with Coolhand and AirCav through the story missions. I like the Titan grenades better than the Warlock but like the Warlocks super ability better than the Titan so I'm kind of torn, especially since the Titan has much better armor rating than the Warlock.

As far as PvP goes I did one map and sucked horribly (came in last by a mile) and can't say I enjoyed it much but I had to give it a try. The Hunter insta-kills are pretty annoying and I can definitely see people making a Hunter strictly for PvP unless that Golden Gun super gets a nerf.

At level 3 on my Titan I got a blue level chest armor piece and got all excited until I saw that it was a level 10 item so I just put it in my storage in case they decide to let us keep our stuff when the retail game comes out (doubt it but you never know).

Overall though I'm still totally stoked and can not freaking wait for the full game!!

all i know is there are a few really OP guns that are going to get nerffffed

getting one shot in pvp is not so fun lol

but other then that i ranked my pvp up so now i can do the 2nd tier
have my rep up and everything just suck at the cap

I find the Iron Banner more fun than normal matches. I get kills just as much but the maps are a lot better and it's fun to know higher level equipment is rewarded. I worked hard for that stuff.

Well, found something I actually HATE about the game...

Coolhand and I were in a fireteam together and running around Earth waiting on the public event to come and a friend of mine joined us w/out knowing he was going to and it kicked us back into orbit with no choice in the matter or indication why, until I realized that we had been joined. It also gave my friend the fireteam leader even though I was the leader at the time he joined.

I hope they do something about that. I don't want to have to reset progress every time somebody joins the group.

Other than that, another fun night and got the daily public even kill on the Devil Walker.

Never had that problem with the PS4 but you can set your fireteam to private to keep people from joining randomly.

I was going to say the same thing. The last couple times I've played my modem has been dropping service so I've been popping in and out of fire teams with no issues. At least they should be aware of the problem before the full game drops.

I'm positive I've gotten the other 4, just need the one that's hidden past the water part. The good thing is that they are all easy enough to get.

Q. When playing the Destiny Beta on Xbox One, the game audio is distorted and/or I hear a high-pitched sound. What can I do?

This occurs when the Kinect Chat Mixer setting is set to anything other than “Do nothing.” This happens whether you have a Kinect attached or not. For the Destiny Beta, you can work around this issue by turning Chat Mixer to “Do nothing”.

The default setting is “Reduce the volume of other sounds by 50%.” Follow these steps to set Chat Mixer to “Do nothing”:

From the Xbox One home screen, press the menu button (=) and select Settings.
Select the Display and sounds tile.
Scroll over to the VOLUME column and select Chat mixer
Highlight Do Nothing and make sure that option is selected.
Once that option is selected, you can re-launch Destiny.
