Destiny Alpha this Weekend...

Epic game, nuff said.  Had a great time tooling around with Zak & Kenny on the co-op stuff.   Now that I've got one class maxed I'd like to give the others a try to see which one I'll probably start with in the full game.  Kinda odd that my Hunter had better armor than Zak's tank, but that probably has to do with only being able to get to level 8 and how good your loot drops are.  

Tried a couple matches of the PvP and it plays a lot like 6v6 Conquest in BF4.  You get points for kills, assists, and caps and points that you're trying to take from the opponent have to first be neutralize before they can be capped.  It's nice to be able to use your same character from the game in MP and to continue to work on their skills and equipment, unlike every other FPS type game.

From what I've seen on twitch/youtube and you guys talking about it this games seems nothing short of amazing.  Can not freaking wait!

They released just the right amount of content for a weekend to test the alpha.  Should be able to play all chars to max and all game modes without getting bored.

Question for you guys that have played...

What's the significance of the enemies that have the gold health bar as compared to the normal red health bar?  Are they elite enemies?  I'm assuming so but don't know for sure.

Gold health bars are like commanders or captains.   They're stronger than the standard unit.  The # in the health bar is the unit's level.  If there's a ? instead of a #, the unit is probably too strong for you.

Actually the gold health bar is an elite version of any enemy. It does not have to be a captain but can be any version and any level. I have seen just regular grunt types that are gold as well as the high level bad guys. They are much stronger than the equivalent level normal bad guy. So if you are taking out level 4's with one shot and you come up on gold level 4 you will have to work for it.

The Destiny Alpha gets a "dangerous" extension.  Bungie tweeted the following...

"There's a rumor that the #Destiny Alpha might be extended to allow dangerous experiments. Play beyond the official close at your own risk!"

I had personally played all three days and with all three character classes finishing up early Sunday.  I felt I had seen all I needed to see and explored everywhere I could get to (even venturing into the end level areas I was not supposed to go) but I might have to sing in tonight again and see what is happening now.  I wonder if they are unleashing new dangerous creatures or what?  I also wonder how long it will last?

D@mn!  I wish I was home to see what was going on.  Stupid work!
