Netflix and Other Xbox Apps...

are finally getting out from behind the pay wall of XBL!  This is just good news period and should have happened a long time ago.  Competition is good for consumers after all.  This will probably also lead to F2P games getting out from under the pay wall too.  Good stuff.

Glad to hear this since I dropped Gold.  I've had some issues with AT&T and had to watch an episode of GoT on HBO Go which wasn't a problem except I had to watch it on my wife's Kindle Fire cuz my computer can't keep up and I dropped Gold.

Now if they can get a contract with Netflix to make it so that if we DO have xbox gold live account we get free netflix every month lol

Would be cool to have different gold plans that include app subscriptions like Netflix, Crunchyroll, HBO Go, etc.

I have my 360 but got rid of Gold because I don't play MP with anyone anymore (not on the same console) and I can still DL updates and DLC with Silver.

Both my kids do.  There are a lot of different types of gamers out there.  Not all care about MP or have the means to pick up gold easily (like kids).  It's always a good idea to be customer friendly.  This will do just that and build some much needed good will.  Smart move IMO.

Still a similar situation in my mind.  Especially parents buying for kids.  A) I want to spend as little as possible and I am already buying a system and a game at the bare minimum. and 2) I am a stupid parent and I don't know any better.

...Among others.  Keep in mind the general public is not an educated gamer.  Obviously all of us are going to get XBL/PS+.  But as Puppet mentioned, this also effects the 360.

True my nephew got an Xbox one for Christmas and does not have gold xbl. He is 10 and may get good eventually but right now it's not even an issue. My brother will now be able to use these things with out gold. Cool and great news for every one who will be icky but I don't see me owning an Xbox with out gold. 360 last gen still useful in this fashion now with out gold very cool

Netflix should have always been free, but 40 bucks for gold Never been a problem for me so meh
