No XB1 baseball coming...

Yeah, point taken. I've been on their website, checked their twitter feeds, and Facebook page to see what people are saying. The freezing is mostly happening on ipad and certain smart phones. The techs claim they've patched it and things should be good. No one seem to be complaining on the x360 yet (PS4 and XB1 version out next month).

Pay for both and be happy.

No, but I own a PS3 and MLB the show '14 for PS3 is already out. I think MLB is getting their feet wet with this and will begin to explore more and more, and the games will get better and better. They had to start somewhere and maybe by next year or '16 the games will be back at the normal sim level of MLB 2K

They keep saying "this spring".
I think they are waiting for MLB The Show (5/9?) which doesn't make a ton of sense, but I think the end of this week, early next week.

My bad MLB The Show '14 is out today. Maybe they will release RBI today, or tomorrow-- or Friday at the latest.
Surprisingly this year MLB The Show is only getting an 8 out of 10 rating. Usually they were drooling and spitting out *12* on a scale of 1-10...  
Guess when there is no competition you sit back and do only what's necessary to survive, nothing "extra".

I was looking over The Show, since I'm not familiar with the franchise, and it looks like it has some good features, especially the one where you can carry your Year saves over to the next year the game is made.  I always hated having to start a franchise over, especially with baseball, since it takes so much time to fully emerse yourself in the your franchise.

Downloaded and played a quick game this morning as I ate breakfast.
Got dominated by the Washington Nats 10-0 (mercy rule killing)! Once the opponent gets up by too much the game is over. I think this was around the 4th inning..LOL
WOW...this isn't going to be as easy as I thought.

Pretty much just as I remember from 1986 with slightly better graphics than 1986, but the controls are pretty tight and correct. Hard to play defense since you can't quite predict where the ball will land (not playing with field assist). CPU is playing at the All Star level, while I was on sub-par rookie level. Infact, more like high school level so embarrassing.

Anyway, I liked the first and only game I got to play. Will be playing all day today after work I'm sure. Next month once the MP patch is added will beat OC and his Sox constantly!

no...it just keeps your stats like old school 1986.
But I do that myself with a pen and paper.

Downloaded at lunch. Played. Got beat by mercy rule. Then looked up controls. Figured how to steal and advance runners. Then won 6-3 on my second try. Pretty beat. Can't wait to play against real people

Next month you can play me and OC.

What I've found so far with pitching:
Bend it off the plate, then quickly back over the black for a backdoor strike against opposite-handed batters.
Sweep unhittable curves outside the strike zone when you sense the batter is itching to swing.
Mix in drop pitches depending on your pitcher's ability.
Move around on the pitching rubber in order to make the batter have to keep searching for where he needs to be in the batter's box.
Bring in a reliever immediately (bottom 4th -top 5th) as soon as you notice your current pitcher is fatigued.
When you learn how to pitch effectively and keep runners off base, your will find the game to be a lot more rewarding!

I really haven't played all that much. I will play more but was having a hard time with the arcadeyness you either win big or lose and some times lose big. I miss the sim style and hope for it to come back next year.

Granted, it takes a bit of getting used to. Then again, I played the original back in '88/'89 so it's pretty much exactly as it was with better graphics. The AI seem to cheat at times, but you have to buckle down and make sure he can't get the hit no matter how hard he tries. Pitch it outside the zone and force him to chase. You'll more likely get the strikeout before he gets the hit.
