Nah, not my team. I'm sure they will sell and if they get Reyes from the mets or pujols they will sell-out. Already have a new stadium down there.

They did well in the winter meetings with good players. The Angels got Pujols, but to me his play has decreased over the years, and $250 million was too much for a declining player. He will "fill the stands" and get 20-25 homers but to me he's not worth it....as a player. As an icon to sell jerseys, excite the fans, and get name recognition sure. On the field he won't produce any more than say Prince Fielder who could have been acquired at a cheaper price. Just my opinion.

The main reason why they took him is that he's on pace to beat Bonds' numbers and once he gets too old to be effective on defense he can be moved into the DH position. I think that it will be a good move for the Angels. Then again, since I'm a Cubs fan anything that gets Pujols out of STL and the NL is a good move by me.

Marlins just got Zambrano from the Cubbies, good luck you sorry bastards. The only thing that really sux about the deal is that the Cubs are eating $15 mil of Z's $18 mil salary. I'm just glad they got rid of him since recently he's been subpar with a horrible temper.

What you fail to realize is that the manager from the Chicago Southside is his new skipper in Miami. I'm pretty sure Ozzie knows what he's getting and knows how to handle him. Be careful, the Marlins maybe the team to watch! Can't touch my Yankees, but you other teams maybe in trouble (especially the NL).

Yup, that's the only reason why Z went there, because he and Ozzie are friends. Otherwise, Z has a no trade clause and would still be on the North Side. When he's good his stuff is brutal and he can hit for a pitcher, but his temper has made him too much of a waste of money as of late.

Had nowhere to put this random thought...
(edited this thread to be MLB 2012 preseason, regular season, and post season thread Idea)
Anyway, Prince Fielder is now a member of the Detroit Tigers Shocked so it'll be Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder, batting back to back in the Tigers' lineup. There's no better 3-4 combination in all of baseball.

WHOA!! They are going to be good. Pitching? (check) big bats? (check, check), defense? (check).

oh yeah...lost Jorge today. Sad!

Means the other core members aren't far behind. We maybe headed back into the dark days of the 80's before long. I think the Red Sox have already been thrown back into those days (lost GM, manager, and closer already!). Now is time for the Angels, Marlins, Rangers, Giants, and Tigers I suppose.

No I wouldn't go that far Klown. Plus in the 80's the Sox were in the playoffs and the world series. 86 vs Mets

It's amazing, a few years ago the Angels fans were saying we "bought" our championships. Just saying.
Now they pay $240 milion on a guy that wasn't even the HR leader last year Rolling Eyes . Infact, I think Prince had more than Albert. Would have to go check the stats but from the top of my head I believe I'm right.

EDIT: Checked...affraid Suspect

Yeah, the Nats will end up #2 in that division this year. Under the (#1) Marlins, ahead of the (#3) Phillies, and ahead of the (#4) Braves. Thought I heard something about Chipper Jones getting ready to retire? He should. Speaking of the Braves, Jason Heyward is going to be good but not as good as I thought during his rookie year.

What about Roy Oswalt? The phillies just dropped him. Probably the only free agent pitcher out there worth anything. Last I heard he was looking to be a Ranger. But they got Yu Darvish there now.

Tim Wakefield and Jason Varitek retired...just getting tougher on you buddy. Saw your new skipper Bobby V. talking crap already to Jeter and A-Rod. Stirring the pot huh? A-Rod maybe, but Jeter is one of classiest players/people around so not sure that was a good move.

I play in 3-4 Yahoo leagues every year.
If there's enough interest I'll certainly run one for S7.

You getting the game too Ceebunks?

Just passing through, thought I'd leave this here:
CC Sabathia, Jeter, Mo (aka Sandman), Swisher, Gardner, A-Rod, Grandyman, Nova, Ibanez , Tex, Robertson, Soriano, Chamberlain, Pineda, Martin...and on and on.

Yankees are looking pretty good. Pretty good indeed!

ok, so far we have myself, OC, Skipitofriskito, and Ceebunks.
We've got 6 more slots available (season starts in about 20 days).

I thought Ritchie and others were going to join?
