Assassins Creed Black Flag
Assassins Creed Black Flag.....This is the only game I've been playing since launch. Totally different than the previous ones and I must say....The best in the series. Amazing graphics, Story, open world and.......PIRATES!
Anyone try this game out yet?

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
I've been putting some time into it. Currently, Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is taking priority over Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag. With the time that I do have in it, I've been having fun sinking many ships on my way to my destinations.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
A good way to raise money is to build your fleet and remember to send them on missions....this is done in the captains cabin. "Z" helped me without me even knowing.....I guess you access friends missions and help them.....epic game for those of you that want something different....

Yeah I got the game it is one of the better AC games I still put brotherhood on the top of my list though. Compared to the AC3 story disappointment I found this to be back on track.
Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
I'm currently a little ways into AC3 and I'm really enjoying it (haven't played any of the others) and I plan on picking up 4 for Xmas or shortly there after.

Along with a PS4???
Also, I will be picking up AC4 at Xmas as well (and Killzone too).

AC4 for 360, PS4 for tax time. Since it's not next gen exclusive I'm guessing it will just have better graphics on next gen so I'm good with it on 360.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Why are people still saying "next gen" referring to XB1 and PS4?
Isn't the XB1/PS4 "PRESENT generation" at this point?
They are already in your grubby little hands .

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
A shame there is not a multilayer component that involves the naval battles, probably the best thing about the game. When ever I was on land I found myself getting bored and looking forward to going back out to sea.

I just pillaged ships that yeilded high amounts of metal and/or wood. I use the metal and wood to upgrade my hull, broadside cannons, and mortars. Man of Wars will go down pretty easy with those upgrades imo. Also, Man of Wars practically do nothing to you if you're behind or in front of them and if you're in fairly close proximity so they don't use their mortars on you. From my experience at least.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
I had this for about 5 days last week. During the first naval battle I was like oh d@mn this is a cool game. Then on land jumping around chasing a dude I got bored quickly. I only really played for maybe 30 minutes so maybe I'll give it another shot later.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Just got this game for Xmas and... WOW! I am still at the beginning but this game is really great. I skipped AC3 because I was a little burnt out after Revelations but this game has me sucked back in to the series. I love the new approach to the "real world" stuff and of course the game world is AMAZING. Plus... I get to be a Pirate Captain! AAARRRR!S7 Uncle Charles wrote:Assassins Creed Black Flag.....This is the only game I've been playing since launch. Totally different than the previous ones and I must say....The best in the series. I spent most of my time once I got my own ship just sailing around chasing buried treasure/treasure maps. Love it! By the time I got to my first port of call I had like 30k lol.

Just got this for the 360 and from all the chatter I hear it sounds like this game is gonna be the sh*t. Probably going to try and get some pirating in tonight or tomorrow.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Haven't gotten out of the prologue so I'm sti on the fence as to what I think of the game. Just met with the governor in Havanna so I really haven't done much aside from completing one assassination.
I looked the map over and it looks like there's tons of places to travel to once one has a ship and then there's the customizing/upgrading of your ship but I don't have my own ship yet. However, I like the assassination animations and creeping up on someone from the brush and jumping out to slaughter them.
All things considered, I have high hopes that this will turn out to be an epic game. Probably won't get much MP action (since I got the 360 version) so I'm banking on the SP being the selling point for the game.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Got my own ship and just hit Nassau. So far the naval battles are pretty sweet but I need to get some money to upgrade to a captain's outfit and shop for ship upgrades. This is starting to turn I into GTA Pirates with all the ways you can upgrade your ship. Looks like all the same kinds of tweaks you could make in Sid Meyer's Pirates but you also have a badass for a captain.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Yeah, I got my own ship and now I sail the open seas looking for adventure and booty! ARRR! Actually I spend a good amount of time exploring but recently I have been progressing the story so I can get access to better stuff and the full map. Really loving this game.
Also, while I normally skip the MP mode in games like this I did try it out the other day and was REALLY surprised. It's quite fun and addictive. If you haven't tried it, I recommend giving it a shot. Even alone it's a lot of fun. Manhunt is my favorite mode so far but they are all good.

Make sure you plunder lots of ships to upgrade yours. Once you get a fleet.....send them out always to make money

Lots of good advice here. I've got the next two days off so I'm gonna try and put some time in to pimp my ride and captain.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Still no fleet yet but I've got some upgrading into my ship (about 33% across all 3 sections) and just finished the 3rd memory sequence so I might be starting my fleet soon. The more I play this, the harder it is to turn off my box each time. So far, I have not been disappointed.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Got my fleet out trading and tearing apart enemy ships. Captured my first frigate and used it to make all the routes safe before sending everyone out to trade. I've got 3 schooners, a brig, and a frigate.
I'm currently trying to upgrade my ship so that I can capture the Spanish frigate that has the stylized "R" over it with the 3000R on it. I can take the frigate by blasting it on the bow or stern but I can't take the peppering from the 2-3 escort ships too. With a little more armor I should be able to do it, that or some more firepower so I can stop the frigate sooner.
All I all, I'm loving this game. I'll probably do like Zak and work a little more story so I can unlock some more upgrades. Either that or I'll keep trolling the seas to try and increase my fleet and all the good stuff that comes with it.

Re: Assassins Creed Black Flag
Use your morters at a distance and take out the escort ships 1st....the schooners can be taken out easily....then go for the frigate. Later on in the game you will need the war galleons in your fleet to carry more cargo....that's when you make big $ trading

Just bought this game a few days ago and really enjoying just taking my time and enjoying the scenery. This game looks much better than I anticipated and looks like there's PLENTY to do. I think this one will take up most of my time until Titanfall.
