Xbox One Party Chat

Anyone have issues using Xbox One party chat? It seems that whenever I attempt to join someone else's party, I cannot turn on party chat because I get a message saying that I can't turn it on and to try again later.  If I'm the host of a party, I can turn on chat, but anyone else who joins in cannot turn chat on.

I haven't run into your exact issue but I have seen lots of random stuff like notifications not popping up and not being able to see people online in the party. I'm not too concerned at this point I'm sure it's just the system being overwhelmed and it will go back to normal shortly. The other day I couldn't invite people or see my friends list, 20 min later it was back to normal.

Weird.  That sounds like the party chat creator has the option to turn off chat, but that kinds of defeats the point, lol.

Yea Xpert and I fought with it for like an hour the other night.

I suppose if you wanted to invite a party to a game and talk through game chat, then you could do that I guess.  Don't know the real reasoning for being able to turn on/off party chat.

Is your NAT open. There seems to be NAT problems for this one as well.

I have never had to make any adjusments to my router in the past. Wonder if it would be better this time around.

My NAT should be open... I'll have to give that a check.

I know the other night Glock had a moderate NAT and his is usually open so it may be something to look into.

its just a weird bug    
we had it happen then like 30 mins later it worked


 i would says use skype alot better and zero problems so far 
did a 4 person video chat   and we use normal calls for  gaming

I found that my NAT was open, and that Evol Recovery's was strict.  He was able to get his NAT setting to open and we were able to party chat.

Yea I just wired the internet in instead of doing it wireless. That was the best solution I could find that didn't involve calling Comcast or banging my head on the desk trying to mess with router settings.

I have been having the same issues. I believe its a nat thing.

Obviously you won't find the Xbox info in the same place but the router steps remain the same.

Yeah I tried to join Glock and company. It pulled up the menu to shut my xbox off and I didn't realize it and shut my machine off, lol....i'm on vacation this whole week so i'll try again later.

using Skype is so much easier then using party chat when party give people those cant join  errors.  


i would recommend people DL the skype app and use it it works great zero problems so far

Also, if the PS4 ends up getting Skype too, we can then chat across the systems.  That and from console to PC and vice versa, not that I'm currently on Skype but it sounds like that's something I'll have to get into.

i really dont see skype coming to any Sony products as its owned by MS  ...
have tried pc to xb1 and that is EPIC   (but now people know were to find me easily if im not on xb1 )trolololol

It's already on the PS Vita.  PS4???? Not sure about that one for obvious reasons but you never know.

It would be pretty awesome if we could skype cross-console. PS4, XBO, and PC all in a big chat.

I really think mine is open....I've never had a problem.  Have not gone on chat yet with ONE to see....

Load up ghosts and launch online, on the bottom of the screen it shows what your NAT is.

Thanks....now that's a lot easier
