Turtle Beach Users
It's unfortunate that Astro doesn't have a compatible headset for the XB1. After playing with a quality headset, there's no way I can play long term with the stock XB1 headset. I see that turtle beach has headsets ready for XB1.
Is the turtle beach headsets worth it, or should I be patient and wait for Astro?
Edit: Clearly, I realize that I could use my Astro for audio w/o voice chat capability. This scenario is unacceptable, however. lol

Also be aware that they will be coming out with an adaptor for current gen headsets. Not sure if it will be available at launch but if you can wait and see then that may be your best bet. But I have no experience with turtle beaches.

I have some XP500s and I love them. While I'll probably get a PS4 only, if I do get a XB1 I'd get the adapter to keep my XP500s cuz I really like them and they're quality enough for me. I know there's all sorts of fancy/"better" options but the XP500s are just as good in my opinion.

I really like my X41's, but Droopy has the very same and his don't seem as good. It seems that the TB quality varies, as I have heard of others who have had issues.

I had some X41s before I got the XP500s and I really liked those a lot. They were a huge improvement from the XBL headset or the wireless MS one I had been using. The jump from the X41s to the XP500s is like going from component to HDMI on your box, it's not essential but definitely worth it.

Ya im not a huge fan of the tb but im also not a huge fan of paying 300 bucks for a headset. Ive preordered the polk xb1 headset and will prob let mrmiller try them out first because ill not be getting the xb1 until may. I also think my hearing is just not that great so take that as is.but mrmillers xb41 do sound better then mine but he also has a newer 360 but idk if it matters

It's probably your set Droopy vs your box. The first set of X41s I had came with a bad chat cable and I ended up with a nonstop horrible echo. Ended up replacing the set and had no problem. That being said, it could be the box.
