Microsoft has registered multiple domains related to the term Xbox Fusion. Spotted by Fusible, Microsoft picked up XboxFusion.com, XboxFusion.info, XboxFusion.biz, XboxFusion.de and XboxFusion.co.uk, among others.

It’s worth noting that Microsoft does not currently own .com domains related to Xbox 720, Xbox Infinity, Xbox Durango or Xbox Infinite, but does own Xbox Fusion, Xbox Next and Xbox Gold. Previously, Microsoft also secured domains related to the term Xbox 8.

The new URLs don’t tell us anything for sure, but domain names have served as indicators of Microsoft’s plans in the past. Back in February, Microsoft registered an Xbox Event website that did indeed end up being used to register for its upcoming console reveal event.

For now, nothing is certain, but we’ll certainly find out more when Microsoft reveals its new Xbox on May 21st. We’ve reached out to Microsoft about the domain names, but until we hear back you can read our round-up of the latest Xbox rumors.

Hmm... sounds more like some app/software that will run on the next xbox. Rebranding of the dashboard perhaps?

That's what I was thinking, possible rebrand of XBL making it a more inclusive all-around entertainment system/software.

I'd definitely expect to see this name in the future. Fusion is a logical choice for all the "fusing" of home entertainment media they are trying to accomplish with the next gen.

Everytime I hear "Fusion" I can't help but think about the Ford Fusion.
Great car, but not xbox/gaming related.

Microsoft’s hugely anticipated next-generation console apparently has a name and it isn’t the Xbox 720. Unnamed sources have told the International Business Times that the new Xbox will be called the Xbox Infinity and that development kits for the new console “are already in the hands of studios.” Microsoft will formally unveil its new Xbox on May 21st and earlier reports have indicated that it will run on the “core” version of Windows 8 and will feature an 8-core 1.6GHz processor, 8GB of RAM, an 800MHz graphics processor, a 50GB 6x Blu-ray Disc drive and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.

Gotta remember they've probably been working on the hardware for 2-3 years and had to nail down various parts to give the devs specs for their games. Although Blu-ray drive speed shouldn't affect game development so maybe that's an old spec number.
