S7R Forza 4 S-Class Tourney - Season 2

Really getting down to the wire now! Only 2 more events left before the end of the season. And the two fastest events at that! We already had some tough Tourneys leading up to this but the S-Class Tourney is going to be amazing!

Wednesday night’s A-Class Tourney was fantastic! We had a surprising turnout of 7 people which was great for what I expected with the holidays. I was even able to make an appearance from my vacation in St Louis. The racing was better this week than last. We had closer races and most places were up for grabs all night, right up to the last race. We still had quite a few people out for real life situations too. I am hoping we can get everyone back together again for the last two Tourneys. Apex seemed to be back in top form but Atrum continues to have connection issues. Xpert is getting better and pretty much everyone has a chance to make a move before the end of the season.

Forza News -

As mentioned above, this was another good one. We had a great time and some close races. Apex was back in full form fighting for the lead. We had several great races and close calls, including an amazing run on Twin Ring Motegi. He came from 3rd to win on the final turn of the final lap, passing both Atrum and I. At the end of the night I had just enough to stay ahead. I only won by 5 points! It was very close all night. Next up was Xpert with his first overall podium of the season. He raced well all night and was assisted by the fact that Atrum thought he was supposed to hit EVERYONE! Atrum continued his strategic assault by “claiming” his internet was acting up again. I think he is just using it as an excuse to hit people while passing. Gonna keep an eye on him. This week it netted him a 4th place finish only 1 point ahead of Coolhand in 5th and only 4 points ahead of Tipton who finished in 6th. OC was having a rough night. He was more often than not involved in some sort of trouble. Either by his own doing or the unfortunately victim of another. He finished 7th for the night.

Overall season stands have shifted once again. It really hurst to miss these Tourneys and give you friends FREE points! Pharaoh and Puppet were both passed by Coolhand and OC. Can they mount a comeback in the last two events? Should be an exciting finish.

So, without further delay, I am proud to present the S7R Forza 4 S-Class Tourney - Season 2. Well, I was right about the A-Class. It can be deceptively hard and S-Class isn’t going to get any easier. Everything is faster and more difficult to control. Pick a car and get to practing. Your gonna need the track time to be competitive. I can’t wait to see what everyone brings to the party. Drivers will have till Wednesday, January 16th to build, tune and test their cars at which point we will meet up and see who has what it takes to win. Get a solid car and start practicing those tracks!

The rules are pretty simple and as follows:

This is a Championship Tourney so the event will be 7 races.

Date: Wednesday, January 16, 2013
Time: Racing starts at 9:30pm sharp Eastern Time
Car Class: S-Class
Damage: Simulation
Collisions: Always On
Starting Grid: Random
Tracks: Random - Player based
# of Races: 7
# of Laps: TBD(depending on track length)

S7 Members ONLY!

The winner will be decided by points base on where you finish each track. The person with the most points will be the F4 S-Class Champion for Season 2.

*You will also earn points towards our Overall Season Standing.

Fixing these connection issues this weekend. I'll be looking to take this class from you Interseptor.

Also, I will be on call the entire week of the 16th... hopefully that's a quiet night lol!

I need to learn how to do the tunings better and how to drive stick lol. Maybe if I did that I could close that gap a bit more between myself and Interceptor, Apex and Atrum. I just wish the game had tutorials for some of this stuff.

Xpert, I'll be on this weekend doing my tuning and practice runs. I can show you how to switch to manual and start on tuning.

So sad that I keep missing events. I'm not sure I I'll make any more with how things are shaping up. A lot of it will depend upon whether or not the baby starts sleeping nights and how work will pan out.

I was gonna hop for the weekend. Probably will start up Forza in about half an hour to look for cars I want to race in S class.

I gave it a shot. My shifting is horrible, but I can get a similar lap time as driving automatic. (if I manage to complete a lap without destroying myself)

I raced all of three seasons of Forza 3 automatic and did just fine. With Forza 4 I switched up to regular manual. It's only this season that I switched to manual w/ clutch. Progression baby. Get used to the game and the tracks. Once you know the tracks well enough you can try manual again. It really is faster.

I plan to drop the brake line and ABS in time (the only 2 assists I use).

Yeah, I was thinking that I'll probably try it once another season starts or maybe Forza 5. That way I could get used to manual starting from low class and progressing through to higher classes.

I switched to manual with Forza 4 as well. It does make a big difference in acceleration and cornering. I convinced Interseptor to go manual with clutch but haven't made the change myself yet. I just need a solid week of gameplay each day to get used to it.

PS: ABS is for noobs.

I'm back now, I'll definitely be ready to make a move in the standings. OC and Coolhand got a free pass due to my absence, lol.

I had a couple cars set up for S Class. But, it dawned on me that I'll be in Colorado Springs next week for work and will not be able to attend the Forza Ritual. I shall return for R3.

I have to work Thursday from 4 pm est till like 9-9:30 or later so I will most likely be late but will hop on when I get home.

Unfortunately a busy schedule has not let me run my new cable yet.
I do have a backup modem that I'll be able to swap out incase my net acts up. That should help minimize my crazy lag.

Coevette is tuned and shared in case someone wants to try it. We will see what the hotel network has to offer.

Points for the S Class. Might have been a small turnout, but the racing was pretty crazy at some points. Replays were saved if that tells you anything.

Yeah, I think I saved two replays during that tounrament, other than the picture lap. It took me that first race to get used to the speed of S class cars, and that kindof caused an accident which caused Apex's and Atrum's cars to run a little slower than normal. Even though the turnout wasn't so good, the tournament was enjoyable.

It was a great night once again. I am going to try and upload a video of the finish between Atrum and I on Camino Extreme.

I never saw Apex race that car. Pretty badass.
