I never even checked the roster to see if anyone I knew was in it.
Yeah, I think I sent it right after you accepted my friend request.
2 of my local friends just ditched the guild because it 'wasn't big enough'. So now it's my mission to get a pretty big group of very active people just so they feel dumb and come back after bouncing from guild to guild for a month.

Or you could be like "No b1tch, you ain't allowed to come back. You ditched me!"
Personally, I like smaller guilds with about 15 - 20 active members. When you have those guilds who just invite everyone they come across and have 200+ members, it's just stupid because nobody takes the time to know and do activities with everyone and it just ends up being a guild full of people going solo. Smaller guilds seem like a better option for teamwork and group activities in my opinion.
Edit: and those huge guilds become extremely proud of themselves for having that many members, and that appears to be their only mission. They never function as a guild, just get as many people in as they can and brag about it.

Exactly. It's like S7 vs clans like KSI. Basically you just toss a tag on in big guilds and still have your own friends.

So how are you going to go about getting more people into the guild?

Re: GW2 Server
My brothers pretty active across forums, but mainly just meeting people in game that seem legitimate. We could spam chats for members but that'd just get random people, most of which are probably 12 or dbags.

Ok, I was hoping you would NOT take the route of:
[global chat]
"Bag End is currently looking for active players who blah blah blah
(three paragraphs later)
join us!"
10 seconds later

Lol nah, that ain't me.
I know my brother occasionally does some pretty funny ones, but he does it to be funny and make fun of the big guilds.

Re: GW2 Server
Heres one:
Bag End (that's our guild *giggle*) is currently looking for active players. We are a guild who hates it when players run from enemies only to have some passing unfortunate soul... unwillingly pull the mobs off the cowardly player... and die. We know who you are, and we despise you. Also, bananas. That is all.
Just something off the top of my head, seems legit.

Re: GW2 Server
I noticed this yesterday, I was looking at who was in the guild and I noticed that two users had their last known locations in an orangish text. Does it show who is playing Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2? I saw someone was in Yak's Bend (which was orange text) and I know that location is in Guild Wars 1, but I don't think I've seen it in Guild Wars 2...

I have no idea actually. I haven't seen Yak's Bend yet either, so that would be kinda neat if it showed gw1 locations/players.

Re: GW2 Server
I believe it showed Vision at the "Gate of Madness". Do you know if he had been playing Guild Wars at all?

He's just been on GW2. I'm positive I've seen that also. Are you sure it's showing that as his location or something else?

Re: GW2 Server
Ah... you know, I think that means they're in a different server. Was looking up server names and Yak's Bend and Gate of Madness are both server names, and those two peoples were the only ones with locations that I did not recognize in Guild Wars 2.

Yeah, Joe is always pretty weird about PC games. He's really similar to 2 of my rl friends. They get this "I wanna be in a super megazors awesome guild" and end up jumping from server to server, guild to guild, etc.

Re: GW2 Server
Yeah, when I first started playing MMOs, I wanted to be in huge guilds because I thought they were awesome. But after joining a lot and realizing that they all actually suck, I tend to stick with the smaller guilds now. Wasn't Vision REALLY into WoW? Shouldn't he know this stuff? Or maybe he's just got extremely lucky with big guilds... idk lol
Edit: Even if the super mega awesome guild isn't big... how did it become awesome in the first place? You need to have a group of people who are willing to stick around to make the guild great instead of thinking "this guild isn't going anywhere" and try to take shortcuts to get into a big guild. Whatever floats peoples boats I guess lol.

Re: GW2 Server
You might want to save up on the Karma points you earn. There are these special Karma vendors in Orr that appear once tough group missions are completed. They sell Exotic gear with superior runes attached that cost 42,000 karma points. I had basically started saving my karma points around level 40 and they're all gone from buying one piece of gear.

Yeah I've been keeping up with the forums and saw that. I don't spend any karma points.

Re: GW2 Server
I was playing some WvW... and I'm thinking of waiting on playing it until I make quite a bit more money. The repair bills really start to drain the bank, along with purchasing blueprints and upgrades for forts and whatnot.

Re: GW2 Server
I wasn't throwing my WoW Raiding experience around at all. But I don't know your RL Friends Isaiah and you weren't on when I was on so I just felt pretty much on my own.
As it is though, I'm not playing much anyway due to school, so there's that. I moved specifically because there were people on this server I wanted to play with. But one has family stuff to take care of, another actually IS one of those "I'm moving guild to guild to do X Y Z" so he's gone. Now I'm left pretty much alone again.
If you get a vent/TS etc server set up I will firmly plant my ass in there whenever I'm online. But the silence was really killing me.
EDIT: Might I also add that my little brother plays on my account as well. So if you see someone online between 7am - 9pm PST, it's him. I work, go to class, and study at my college, so I'm there 12-15 hours pretty much Monday - Thursday.

Re: GW2 Server
Yeah, I've been sort of switching around between servers. I have many friends who have the game, but all of them have yet to break level 40... so they do not put a whole lot of play time in. Basically alone too. One friend told me about a server he's on with many RIOT people that he knows, so I moved there to see if that group is active at all.
