GW2 Server

Yeah, it is definitely a good feature.
The biggest complaint I've heard (and it's absolutely stupid) is that the experience doesn't also scale. Apparently people want to be able to level up the same speed killing level 5 monsters as level 70.
And honestly if you're levelled down for an area, your equipment makes it very easy. So it's good a level 80 can't fully destroy every lower level champion monster, but still has an easy time against lower levelled things.

ROFL, I don't think people think about "the things they're bitching about" through very well. I hope ArenaNEt doesn't make changes in the game to accomodate those people, because that's how games become ruined. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I noticed that the trading post was up and running yesterday. It's a bit odd to see some items going for (seemingly) low prices, but it just seems low because the in-game currency is a bit harder to earn than your usual MMO. Something that I am really liking about the 'Black Lion Trading' feature is that you can buy gems (used to buy special attire, mini-pets, character slots, etc) with real money or convert your in-game currency. Most MMOs which have that 'special currency', you have to spend actual money to obtain it, but that's not the case with GW2.

Yeah, I'm a fan of that as well. What level are you at now?

Well, sort of went crazy on Guild Wars 2 last weekend with the holiday and all. Managed to get to 57 I think. That's with my Human Ranger. What about you?

Past few days I've just been doing Undiscovered Vistas and wandering.
Leveling is so fast I'm not too worried about hitting 80

Leveling is somewhat fast. Likely because you get experience every time you get an achievement (or a tier of an achievment), every time you harvest resoruces, also when you craft materials. Pretty much everything you do gives you experience. I still need to get my crafting levels up so I can make some gear for myself which matches my level (still have javelin that's about level 18 and my respirator thingy is even worse). Which brings up another thing I like, you can use every artisan profession. You can only have two at a time, but switching between them doesn't reset progress.

I'm currently lvl 31 on my Nord warrior. I'm on the crystal desert server with my local friends.

I really wanted to get a speargun for my ranger, and after I completed an area, I got a rare speargun and rare body armor. However, when I got the speargun, the image of it made me think it was a regular gun... so I sent it to the trading post. Later on, I went to check the list of things that I had recently sold and I saw that I sold a rare speargun. Then I starting thinking, "I really needed a speargun! When did I get one? Wait... DAMNIT!". Guess I'll just have to avoid water for now. lol

You sell things on trading post? The GW2 economy seems pretty crazy right now. All the items I've seen have been exceedingly cheap.

Well, my storage is already full and I don't want to keep on adding stuff to my inventory. Pretty much, if I get a yellow item (rare) that I don't need or can't use... then I just sell it at the trading post. If I get green items and lower, then I salvage them and keep the materials until I max out. Any materials I get that I can no longer store gets sold. Also, if I get runes from salvaging greens and blues, I put them on the trading post as well. It's just a matter of I don't have the space for anything right now, so I may as well get a few silver from selling my yellows.

That makes more sense then. I've noticed that storage space fills up quite quickly.

Also, most of the stuff I see on the Trading Post doesn't seem so bad. At my level, greens seem much more common than when I was levels 1 through 40. Making money in the game without the auction house is very tough. I only have 2 gold right now because I had to spend 3 gold to get my training manuals. If people were selling blues for over 5 silver and greens for over 15 silver, nobody would want to buy it because it can be easily obtained and money is hard to come by.

Got to level 80 yesterday on my ranger. In the middle of trying to complete my storyline now. Also want to try to get a group to do the level 80 dungeon so I can earn some dungeon tokens to buy some good gear. Then I'll probably move on to PvP or WvW. Fought two dragons during my leveling. Claw of Jormag was definitely one of the best events that I've completed.

Well, the people I know who have the game aren't really on much at all. As far as I know, they're only about level 10 -_- soooooo I'm not too sure about the server lol. How often does you and your group play? If server transfers aren't free anymore, I wouldn't mind paying to move to another server as long as there are groups to play with.

Also what are your groups plans for PvP? I just learned that Guild Wars 2 will have a feature called 'guesting', where players will be able to play with friends from another server. As far as I know, the only thing guesting doesn't work for is WvW since your account it tied to a specific sever, or team. I don't think this is implemented yet, but once it is, then server transfers will cost.

I don't know if I've ever seen less than 2 of my friends on when I've been on. I'd say there are usually 2-6 of us on from about 8 EST to 3AM or later EST.

We're planning on setting up a chat server. Right now we all use skype but it might be more convenient to do something else.

As for PvP right now we're all just having fun playing the game, exploring, etc. I know most the other guys are pretty competitive so I see us doing a lot of WvWvW and probably a good amount of PvP

I might make a move back then. Right now, I just want join a server that has a group that will do WvW. Then I'd be able to play with my other group via the guesting system for PvE and PvP. If they ever want to do WvW, well... they can go [creative language here] themselves. lol

Yeah, we really like doing WvW. Usually if we have 3 or more we instantly queue up for it so we can play it whenever we get a chance. We're talking with a few people about merging a couple other smallish guilds in to ours so we have more players to go in with.

Sounds like you have a good group going. I've kinda lost hope in my current group. lol.

Haha, I got your guild invite before around when the game released, but I didn't think it was your guild. When I saw Bag End (the first time), I just thought that some passer-byer was just throwing out guild invites because it was random and you never said anything. I never even checked the roster to see if anyone I knew was in it.
