Ok so I'm drunk right now Yaa newyear wooo
My younger brother has gotten me into stouts. Disclaimer I dink my coffee black and these stouts I've been drinking have a strong coffee flavor and a high abv. Delicious to me though   Tonight I drank Kentucky bourbon barrell stout. Very good but the founders breakfast stout was better. But still very good  makes Guinness taste like a smooth light beer. Oh I hAd one of those to tonight. Ahh yaaa Beer is delicious and I'm drunk yaaaaaaaaa

I love any barrell aged stout the Kentucky stout aint bad but founders breakfast is much better.  If you can find Left Hand Milk Stout on Nitro draft at a pub somewhere you might just be in heaven.  I also think that Terrapin Wake and Bake is pretty good on draft.

Whats the difference with a milk stout? My liquor store Sella left hand for sure I'll have to look for that nitro.

I know its gonna sound wierd but they use lactose sugars to help ferment lend more alcohol and taste to the beer.  The lactose goes great with chocolate (obviously) so that is why it goes well with chocolate stouts.

If you can find left hand on a nitrodraft then you are gonna be in heaven.  It tasted totally different on draft than out of a bottle so look for it on nitro if you can find a pub that has it.

I enjoy most of the Omme Gang's brewery choices but I would have to give my favorite current beer to the Three Philosophers.

The milk/lactose is mainly added to make the stout beer smoother in taste and not as sharp or bitter oatmeal is also added for the same reason. Lactose does  not yield  a lot more alcohol, just a little  bit and the sugar extracted from the oatmeal is kinda minute  also.  The Oatmeal absorbs some of the bad tanons or bitter tanons made during  fermentation  and adds a little more alcohol. Milk stouts are the smoother  of the stouts  followed by oatmeal and chocolate, but the chocolates can sometimes  be bitter like coca powder if the alcohol content  is low

Wow really? I am able to find a 750 ml for about $8 which is still expensive but its not to bad. I can also get a 4 pack of normal sized glass bottles for about $14 I believe.

Here in Seattle they have on tap Mac & Jacks African Amber, if the place has it I always get it, great beer. Another good local is Pike's Kilt Lifter. The brewery is only like 10 min. walk from my house so it's a favorite stop of mine before going out or to a game or anything. My favorite stout is Old Rasputin, comes in a 4 pack. Dunno if any of you stout drinkers have tried it but it's d@mn good.
