Diablo 3 Prep thread

I thought I would make a thread were we could discuss our preparations for Diablo 3.

What characters are you going to start with? Knowing this might ensure we don’t all have Barbarians, or don’t sell off Monk equipment because we are not using it when we could trade it to a clan mate.

How should we communicate while playing? Should we use teamspeak or some other software, or maybe even Xbox live party chat? Is there something built in D3 (I didn’t notice in the 3 days I played the Beta).

Anything else you can think of.

I'm going to start with either a Barbarian or Hunter. Most likely a Barb, but I'm not 100% yet.

It doesn't matter to me what we use to communicate, but I want to get it installed before the game launches if we go with a PC program. You guys who play computer games a lot would know better than I would.

I think I'm going to go with a Demon Hunter. I've not seen anyone mention choosing that yet, so I thought I'd go something a little different so the squads have a nice balance.

agreed every one i know uses skype as its free and sounds great...

going either WD or Wizzard
either way i plan on playing multiple plays at once... but still cant wait ... so if your on and need another player you know were to find me


keep in mind your stash is shared across all your characters ... also it can be upgraded for more slot and even 3 more stash's

I will be rolling monk. I really favor the CC and knockback utility the monk has so I can easily blind, heal, and keep mobs off of Epic if he's rolling DH.

However I don't have the money to get Diablo right away. Which sucks, because it will finally be the game I can actually play with you old S7 members after so long.

I'm more than likely going to start off as a monk or a demon hunter. The monk was a fun class that had some good power along with some helpful spells such as blind and heal during the beta. Never got around to playing the demon hunter class.

Yea, when I said "Hunter" I meant "Demon Hunter"- LOL. I normally like the ranged characters, so I will be playing one too. I might go Barb first, as the tanks are normally easier to begin with. Having the shared stash is going to help when starting new characters.

Does Diablo 3 use those battle tags (or whatever they're called) to send friend requests and whatnot? Perhaps another thread should be created for memebers to post what their tag or email is, so that people can start adding when the game is released?

If you played the beta, then you should have already created a tag that should be viewable when you log into your battle.net account.

I'm really thinking about canceling my GameStop pre-order and just doing the digital download so I can start playing at midnight. Seeing as I didn't get the limited edition, I really have no need for only the disc.

@miller i would do that as well as you can already DL the game and as soon as the server go live you can play it ...
for me ill need to stand in line as i have 2 copy of the limited edition at gamestop and one at bestbuy... really only need 2 copy one for me and one for my brother i was thinking of selling the other

So what do I need for Skype on my PC? I have it on the laptop, but it was pre-installed (and there is a built in camera and mic). I would guess I could get by only with a PC mic right? I think I have an old Logitech USB one here somewhere.

julian, your assumption is faulty.

i'll be rolling out first with a tank tank tank, and then probably the monk after that.

i plan on only rolling two characters at a time. One to do the campaign with josh and whoever else wants to roll, and then the other to roll solo or in public games.

I'll probably start with a Barb on day one, and then start up a Hunter when you get around to playing and help balance the team.
