Oh, and Wonky you cold blooded Helicopter thief! Every time I spawned in the Helo he shot me dead. Then I kept doing it to try a hurried lift off, didn't work out. The last time I was able to spawn as a enemy passenger while lifting off...he still got me on that note I'm gonna wait to buy the steering wheel and get the huappage PVR so I can record this stuff.

Re: Multi player
Yeah there were a couple of us on "the other team" from Glock and Interseptor and we were working like a group of professionals. Coolhand is one hell of a helo pilot and I kept swapping spots in the chopper so that I could repair it in mid air. It sounds like I saved us from getting killed at least a couple times by Glock and probably some others. It was much more entertaining when we were on different teams and in the same party chat, listening to Intersepter call out his teammates as plane thieves and such. Looking forward to horsing around some more with everyone, now that I'm kinda of getting used to the different feel this game has vs COD.

Re: Multi player
Ok so the way to get in with all S7 on one team is to have one person find the game in the server browser and then accept their invite if you do this you will all get into the room and same team = EPIC WIN BF3 you can still join off of people but the odds are you will be on the other team so ask for invites.

Re: Multi player
Are we sure this works 100% (or even 90%) of the time? The game is great when you can get a full team in there, but if it keep balancing every round and one minute you are playing with a S& member and the next you are against him, it get aggravating trying to work on strategies and play to each others strengths/weaknesses. For example, the early part of the night I was in Interseptors squad, and I learned he is good at being close to the objective when defending, and as I was playing support I could cont on us spawning together to defend the satcom. If I’m on Wonky’s team I know most of the time he is going to be in a vehicle, so to spawn on him is to be a support gunner cutting off the advancing enemy. With others they are snipers, so I don’t want to spawn on them and be away from the satcom and having to sprint a huge difference back to the objective. So by the time you get this patterns down, it switches you to a team of random players and you have no idea from one moment to the next what tactics to play, and the entire team suffers.

Re: Multi player
From my observation if people accept invites then they get in to the room on the same team. What happens like last night the other team will drop and to start the next round it some times will auto balance the teams by putting S7 members on the other team. Sucks but this is the best way I have figured out to get an s7 team in bf3

Yeah, it's not perfect but it does work for the most part. I am hoping it smooths out even more in the weeks to come. Especially after the game severs reach a normal level. I will also say that the EA servers were much better last night even though there seemed to be more people on playing. I never had a problem connecting to the server and only minor problems getting in games.
Also, in case you missed it last night, you can talk to the whole team. You don't have to just talk to your squad or use party chat. There is a setting in the Squad & Team menu (in game) that allows you to switch from Squad to Team chat. Team chat allows you to talk to your whole team.

Yea, I didn't have any real problems with connecting either, so it looks like EA is working on the server issues quickly. Things should only get better like you said.
My question is- if you go to Team chat, but other members of your team are still in squad chat, can you hear each other? Does it work one way (receiving) but not the other (broadcasting)? Also, I noticed more "choppy' talk and lag in the speech with the Team chat over the normal party chat. Did anyone else, or was it just me?

With team chat enabled: When you speak, the whole team can hear you but you can only hear those in your squad and those who have enabled team chat as well. So for the whole team to talk and communicate everyone needs to have team chat enabled.
And yes, I did notice lag in the game chat. I am hoping that improves with the servers.

Good to know. At least if eveyone can hear you, one could request they switch to the team chat. Very cool.

Re: Multi player
For those of you playing with me, I tend to play the Engineer kit cuz I love shotgunning in other people's vehicles and playing mechanic to keep them in one piece. I also like to have the noob stick and explosives. I may occasionally play the assault class, but normally you can count on me to be your grease monkey and coolhand and glock can attest to the fact that I keep a scrap heap chopper in the air pretty well

Love having an engineer passenger, huge help
Once I have some more specs unlocked it should be easier to keep it up lol intended
As far as the party balancing, stop making the other team quit
We can reform if or when it happens though

I play that kit too. Since I mostly play support/defense in all the games I play, so the Engr kit fits well in that I can spawn into a vehicle to gun, repair it if need be and I have a SMAW for an AT role when dismounted. Most all around kit for me to support the assault players. Add to that the ability to get suppression kills - I'm happy.
I also love finding the AA guns on the maps that have them. I enjoy shooting down jets particularly if they are in a dogfight and I can save my teammate who has got one on his six.
Now if I could figure out how to get that mortar perk. I hate you Rolling Thunder!!!!!

Re: Multi player
That mortar perk is sweet. Thunder was owning kids with the explosives and the smoke rounds were very helpful when taking positions. I play the engineer too since I've finally realized that I'm not talented enough to be a solid assault player. If I'm going to help the team out it's going to be in support roles like you discussed. I'm glad that MW3 finally accepted this too and that there will be support classes for that game too.Air7Cav wrote:Now if I could figure out how to get that mortar perk. Re: Multi player
I play the "support" class, which I'm not really sure why it is named that besides that it drops ammo. I do like making the shortcuts to the SATCOMs with my C4, as well as doing sneak attacks on the tanks. The support class has the Mortar perk, but I mainly use C4 in that slot. Like BF:BC, mortars are great at leveling complete buildings if too if you have a couple of people using them and rotating them on and off.

Re: Multi player
I use the "Support" class pretty much exclusively. Mostly because I love the M249. That gun with the bi-pod, reflex sight and flash suppressor is a killing machine. I also like using the large clip to help suppress the enemy so my assault buddies can move up. It works very well. Like Miller I also use mostly C4 and mortars depending on what I am doing. If I am attacking the target directly I use C4 and if I am further back I will use mortars (just unlocked them last night).
I also like to be on foot for the most part. I like flanking around the enemy and sneak attacking the target. Much easier to go unnoticed on foot. I will drive a jeep or take a ride in a heli but mostly I like to be on the ground, in the fight.

Re: Multi player
I mostly use the engineer class and love my scar but I find it is not the best class unless I am rolling in a vehicle. I prefer to be a gunner and do alot of spotting in tanks. But I also like to flank locations and get some capture points or even some quick bomb plants. I should put more work into the support class so I can also use that when not in a vehicle.

Re: Multi player
I think I'm going to start work on that Support class too. I got the scar and a better scope last night so that I can have a solid weapon and I unlocked the defibrillator on Wed so I've got some solid equipment in those classes but I really want to get that LMG and the mortar to be able to fill that role on maps that are low on vehicles.

Support is a blast. Especially once people know the maps better and start sniping with tanks. You can just sit there an heal the minor damage they tank an essentially lock down a map with just a tank and a support guy.

That's kinda what Coolhand and I do with the choppers, I run Engineer and switch between repairs and manning a gun. Practically makes a chopper indestructible if you have a good pilot, some solid gunners, and a fast Engineer.

Re: Multi player
I love support the most once I max it out I'll move to the others, my second choice is sniping. I'm pretty good with both. I thought it was funny last night, I couldn't join you guys for awhile so I decided to just play random rooms. Well I unknowingly ended up in your room. The funny part is I decided to go Motar happy and you guys obliged. You guys were giving me a lot of double kills and ribbons. One of you made it back to where I was and killed me, not that little robot. After I respawned I found a secluded area and continued my bombardment, boom-kill, boom-double kill, boom-vehicle disabled. Well I ended up with 20 something kills and 3 deaths...Thank You for your love guys I appreciate it lol jk. Oh yeah, I didn't know it was you guys until that match was over and we was back in the lobby. I wasn't paying attention to who I was killing, too focused on my scared little targets running around like ants lol.
