Yeah, I just think it's a cool idea to have top voted tracks. I like the ones we have now. I think you guys did a good job getting rid of the ones that are a bit ridiculous for 8 player online.

I don't think any track should be a sure thing though... that's why I think we should submit tracks... then have it random... i know there would be haters on some tracks (ie: Maple Valley, etc), that some people seem to dominate... but if, for example, Glock chooses Maple Valley and everyone says no, b/c of his past wins, it should still have a chance to come up, just with lesser odds... Well, it's simple, ppl can vote 3-5 tracks and I'll add em to the list, if there are multiple votes for a track then it will be in the list multiple times, I have no prob

And even easier... people can vote during that 2 week "tuning" period, and you can still pick them night of like normal...

and if you don't vote, don't b1tch when you get a crappy track

Another thought... We did basically do this to make everything easier with qualifying for the last couple tourneys anyways... but "Guaranteed starters" or Provisionals or something to that effect...

Season 2 top 4 in points
Glock, Interseptor, Wiggles, Epic - 4 spots taken
If someone couldn't show up - Atrum then Sticky then OC would be the next ones eligible for the spot




Top 4 per Class
I was thinking something like if you were top 4 in that class the previous season, then you're in the season tourney guaranteed... It's more thinking than the first one... but I was bored... this favors people who made it and did well in Season 2 only

Class F Season 2 - Top 4 were Glock, Interseptor, Wiggles, Epic -
they wouldn't need to qualify for Season 3 Class F
next ones eligible for the spot - Sticky then Atrum

Class E Season 2 - Top 4 were Glock, Interseptor, Wiggles, Epic -
they wouldn't need to qualify for Season 3 Class E
next ones eligible for the spot - Sticky then OC

Class D Season 2 - Top 4 were Glock, Interseptor, Wiggles, Sticky -
they wouldn't need to qualify for Season 3 Class D
next ones eligible for the spot - Epic then Atrum

Class C Season 2 - Top 4 were Glock, Interseptor, Wiggles, Atrum-
they wouldn't need to qualify for Season 3 Class C
next ones eligible for the spot - Epic then Chippy

Class B Season 2 - Top 4 were Glock, Interseptor, Wiggles, Sticky -
they wouldn't need to qualify for Season 3 Class B
next ones eligible for the spot - Doviikin then Atrum (Tie Breaker given to highest finisher Kenny 4th in Race 7)

Everyone should be vulnerable. F1 style.

I don't see the problem with having everyone qualify. It's in ghost mode so there is no reason a top 4 racer shouldn't qualify again as there is no dirty racing going on.

It more has to do with running two qualifying rooms, recording the scores and then comparing the times from both rooms. What we did last time is decide that Glock and myself were going to qualify anyway and we sat out. Then invited everyone who needed to qualify into one room. Ran the qualifying round and the lowest person was out. It was simple, easy and faster than running two rooms. Not that it make a difference to me. I am happy to do what ever you guys want to do.

Same can be said for the regular season events. I don't mind racing stock, I actually kinda like it but I think that the standard season events should remain the same. I like that everyone has to bring an original car to the event. It's part of what makes so special and I think we should continue as is. If you want to race stock or just have a little fun, you should come out to the Late Night Series, or start another series entirely as Wiggles suggested. A stock event would certainly be easy to do. You don't have to build, tune or practice so you can just show up and race.

Yeah...I just don't have enough time or knowledge to put a competitive car on the track.

It was more for making life simple... odds are I'm normally the one hosting it, and taking Interseptor and Glock and _______ (4th Place holder) out of the equation that leaves 7 spots with me to run qualifying and unless we get 12+ racers on a night, it works out perfect...


And lets be honest here... Glock, Interseptor, and Myself are going to qualify, I think the records show that... That's not to say Atrum, Epic, Sticky, OC, Chippy, Kenny, Panzer, UC, Mcamp, Klown, who ever couldn't just show up and be awesome and kick ass... but in the end, the 3 of us have finished 1-2-3 in 12 of 14 series races (with the Sticky crashing the party twice)

Which is why I think we should go with the 3rd plan I posted
Glock, Interseptor, Wiggles - All Classes
Sticky - Class F, D, B
OC - Class E
Atrum - Class C
Epic - Class A, S

For Season 4, it would be based on points from Season 2 and 3, etc

That way, I can handle the qualifying stuff, Glock and Interseptor can get things posted on the forums and get the tracks all picked from the submitted lists... Maybe we can get things rolling a little easier each race night this way

107% Rule...

In Formula One, the 107% rule was a Sporting Regulation that affected qualifying sessions from the beginning of the 1996 season until the end of the 2002 season. It stipulated that a driver who did not lap within 107% of the pole position time during the hour-long session the day before the race would not be eligible to compete in the race, subject to the discretion of the stewards.

The 107% rule will be reintroduced for the 2011 season with minor modifications due to the knock-out qualifying session format.

One thing - If we are to introduce one of these qualifying rules, I would like the number of laps increased.

Last time, we only really got 2/3 flying laps, one you'll need to be conservative/clean just for safety, the others you can push a little but it can be pretty easy to get a dirty lap, especially on some tracks...

I think 7-10 laps on a short track is the order of the day. Preferably one corner-oriented because, let face it, everyone (bar chippy and his TCS) can manage to drive well in a straight line.

something with a 10 min time (roughly)... kinda like we do with the races?

I agree with adding laps to the qualiofier. make it more like the rest of the tourney lap wise

I think we should have a meeting and discuss everything at one time. Get straight on what we want to do and get it nailed down. How about this Thursday at the regular time of 8:30-9:00pm?

Yep, we'll discuss Season 3 Rules, Stock Tourneys, the "Up All Night" event and probably even some Late Night Tourney ideas. Hope you see you guys tonight. Oh and I figure we'll race too. Maybe even do a Stock Tourney depending on the turn out.

sorry guys i took some meds and i was KO-ed... i almost didnt make it in to work tonight... slept like 12 hours straight... so what did i miss?

Basically, we are going to force Off Auto Break unless we get some new guys that really need it to get started. And even then we want to limit them to 2 events, at which point we will force it off again.

We have also decided to officially change collisions to Always On.

Blocking will be allowed but be warned. If you Block someone and end up getting wrecked out, I don't want to hear any crying. There is a risk involved and you could end up wreaking both of you.

Penalties will Not be applied post race.

Track Selection will continue as we did for the S-Class Tourney. Each member will submit 3 track selections. We will take all the suggestions and randomly draw maps based off of those submissions.

And everyone is susceptible to qualifying. If we decide to give someone a pass, we will do so individually as the situation arises.

And I think that's it. Any points I missed?
