Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
The Fall Season is upon us and with it starts Season 2 of our S7R Championship Series! With the impending season looming overhead I thought I would open it up for discussion. What did you like/dislike from Season1? What changes do you suggest? Do we need to change the day of the week? What day and time works best for you?
Remember this is a team game and everybody gets an equal say. I am just here to help facilitate and organize. So speak up and let's get everything sorted so we can start Season 2. Really looking forward to this.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
I thought season 1 went great overall.
I had a thought that maybe we could just make a set schedule for the entire season right from the get go? We had so many odd delays and reschedules it might be a good idea.

Not a bad idea and fair to all involved. Once we start we hit it every two weeks period. If you can't make it you can't make it but no one gets special consideration. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
Fair deals are fair so long as the ground rules are outlined clearly in the beginning.
As far as changes and suggestions are concerned, I was thinking of putting up some Microsoft Points to be awarded via random drawing based on attendance at the end of the season.
Cuz we all know if its based on placement, freakin Interseptor would take it home.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
I agree with everything being set from the start and making sure people understand exactly what the schedule means. I really like the idea of a schedule because we all know exactly what we are getting into. Not to mention finishing the season in a timely manor. We have 8 different season events. If we stick to a set schedule it will take 2 months to complete. I think that is long enough without added additional delays.
I am also down for prizes for attendance. I can work with Droopy to come up with some cool stuff if we have enough interest.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
I think the set schedule is great but unless my math is wrong it takes 4 months to complete 8 events if we go every 2 weeks, not that it really matters.
As for day of the week, currently I work every Thursday night and the earliest I'd be home would be about 11 pm. If the group wants to keep with Thursday night that's cool and maybe in the future I'll be able to change that and make some events. I could still hit random tourneys if we hold them and possibly help people by testing cars. The earliest the Thursday nights would change for me would most likely be Thanksgivng.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
Is anyone interested in mixing up the season? By mixing up, I mean we select a single track for each night and run 2 heats at say... 15~20 laps?
Just tossing out ideas.

I enjoy having more races. Just 1-2 races could really skew some results. If you get wrecked in one of those you're basically done for the night.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
Also if someone were to show up a little late, they'd have to wait around forever for a race to finish if it were that many laps. I also like how there would be a fair set schedule instead of sloppily scheduling to accomodate one or two people. If you can't make it then you can't make it.

That's a good point AtrumX.
So, I'm hearing 8 rounds on random tracks like Season 1
Set schedule so Season 2 is more uniform and timely
End of Season prizes awarded based on attendance
How do we feel about the prizes being based on attendance per race? The more races your in, the more times your name goes in the "hat".
Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
I agree, if I know the schedule ahead of time, I can probably make it to most of the events.

I think that sums it up pretty good so far.
Now, what about the day and time? Puppet clearly has a problem making the current Thursday night schedule. I am down for changing the day/time but only if it works for the majority. Meaning I do not want to change if for 1 person if it means 2 others won't be able to make it. So let's start be seeing what days/times work best for you Puppet. Speak up. Let me know what days work best and we'll go from there.

Ok, for me at least, Thursday after 9:30 is best, but I can really do any day after 9:30 so just pick one that works for the majority.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
Right now I should be working Thursday nights until Thanksgiving. Once we get there our weekly delivery will move to Thursday and I'll probably switch to working Tuesday nights. Therefore, right now my preferred night would be Monday or Wednesday at like 8pm EST or later. Like I said thought, I agree with Zak that we shouldn't change the night unless it works for the majority.
@Apex - why don't you host those endurance races on your Apex nights? You could do them on the weeks opposite the tourneys and maybe pick a different night so that those that can't make the season races could possibly hit your races. If you pick the same class cars as the next tourney people could really put some work in driving their cars with other racers and really see if they want to use the car in the next tourney.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
Alright. Any day works for me so I am good no matter what we decide. I like days in the middle of the week rather than Mondays personally but that is just cause I like to veg out on Mondays after work. With that in mind let me pose the following simple question...
Does WEDNESDAY nights work for you?
(This question is directed towards everyone. Speak now or forever hold your peace. If the answer is no, please explain.)

On Wednesday, I have class till 9:00, so I may be a little late, but I'll try and make as many as I can.

Well, that is sort of problematic depending on what time we start. What time do you think you could be home and ready to race?

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
Probably 9:30, but if people would rather race earlier for whatever reason, thats fine. If 9:30 works out, great, if not, I'll wait till next semester when hopefully my schedule clears out a bit.

Re: Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion
I hear ya. Personally I am fine with 9:30pm eastern. Lately it's harder and harder for me to get on early and later really works better for me.
Anyone have a problem with 9:30pm on Wednesdays?
