Clear the Cache on the Xbox 360

Clearing the cache on the Xbox
360 is a fairly simple process, and can be useful if the system seems
sluggish, unresponsive, or you just need to get rid of a game update
(for whatever reason).

The most important part of clearing the
cache is knowing what to expect. All downloaded game updates will be
removed. So if you have downloaded an auto-update for a game, in order
to play it on Xbox Live you will need to re-download it.
User game saves, profiles, demos, videos, etc. are not deleted during the process.
To clear the cache on the Xbox 360 do the following:

Idea Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.

Arrow Highlight the Hard Drive symbol and press Y.

Arrow Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X.

Arrow You will see a confirmation message to confirm system maintenance, proceed.

Clear the Cache on the Xbox One:

Unlike Xbox 360, the Xbox One does not have a menu option to clear cache on the console. Instead, follow these steps to clear cache on an Xbox One:

Arrow Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.
Arrow Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.
Arrow Press the power button on the console three or four times.
Arrow Plug the power cable back into the console.
Arrow Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.
Arrow Turn on the console using the power button.

Performing step 3 will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.
