Re: OnLive Service
I thought you had to pay a fee for the service, then another fee per game you play (like a rental on each game). Not sure about that, but you may check into it to see what the total cost will be.

Re: OnLive Service
I was in the Beta for OnLive. Its an excellent service so far for me. I like the Arena the way you can watch any game at any time and rate people. The Brag Clips are a nice touch too. And of course playing on any internet capable laptop or PC, no matter the specs is awesome. The controls are just as responsive as any game console, which is insane! All they need to do is to make a cross-game voice chat system, and that would work. Also fix the issue with the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller vibration, currently, I haven't seen any games that it works on. I haven't tried out the MP games only single-player so far. The main reason is because it doesn't have voice chat, yet. I got Just Cause 2 with my PlayPass coupon since I had all the major titles on 360 already. As they improve and add wireless compatibility and resolution changes, they need to make it more appealing to users. They have the 3 and 5 day passes, which work, but many people are gonna want to play the games for much longer. The 3-year release time is probably gonna change to a longer period, but in all reality, in that time frame, most people will have already moved on to other games.
My theory is that they'll have a longer term plan for the games that are the most popular, say for example a Modern Warfare or a Halo or Gears. They would gauge it by that and the ones that they see are consistently played like that, they'll grant a permanent PlayPass to it. Even if they expired, they'll have your purchases in their database, so if they changed their minds on some games, they open it back up free of charge.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

Re: OnLive Service
So do you have to pay for the games again if you let your membership slip? Also what about extra downloaded content?

Re: OnLive Service
My microconsole has been shipped finally, I must say they surprised everyone, apparently the output is in 1080p, per the people posting on onlivefans.com. The controller is nearly identical to the Xbox 360 controller, and there is no lag at all. All they need now is achievements and voice chat. If you use the service and care to look me up, my tag is: Knowledge.

Re: OnLive Service
I really love the PlayPack they have! Its $9.99 to play an unlimited time on a selected library of games (the library is obviously going to increase). It comes with the purchase of the console, right now its in Beta. You can't beat it anywhere! The microconsole is perfectly priced at $99 and it comes with a free Playpass for a full game. It comes with an HDMI cable, and ethernet cable, the plug and the controller. It does support wireless through a wireless bridge, but natively, a wired connection is obviously best. It supports up to 4 controllers wirelessly as well. Its still hard to believe that all this is possible without a single game disc or download needed! The controller feels exactly like the 360 controller, except the thumbsticks are in the center, but the D-pad is ingeniously designed, perfect for fighting games! The buttons on the inner curve of the controller are for your Brag Clips in game. you can simply press the button in the center to start recording the clip. The others are fast forward, rewind, stop, etc. And they're gonna be streaming movies next year sometime too! Too many people are sleeping on this service hardcore. All they need is to hurry up and put the achievements in and the voice chat, and it'll be all good!
