Re: Ghost recon wildlands
Well, I'll basically put this in the "solo" game category for me. I'll run it, complete it, forget it.
That being the case I 'll get it for PS4. Had there been a true old school multiplayer like it once once, and like it should be I'd be getting this for XBOX One (good thing JWriter is not around to shoot me in the back). Those were good days!
Then again maybe with a xbox version I can pull AirCav and a few others out of hiding and out of Destiny to play a bit of Co-Op Ghost. Could still be fun if only for a little while.

Re: Ghost recon wildlands
I'd love to see the PvP from GR:FS. We had a ton of fun with that and it rewarded many different loadouts (attack, support, stealth, etc.) like Battlefield games, rather than the need to get kills in COD. I've got a pre-order and this will be my alternative shooter to The Division, since I don't play COD.

Re: Ghost recon wildlands
Well completed every mission today including a new one they opened for the beta. Great game and loved the feeling of playing "sneak +peek" again. Reminded me of a mixture of Red Dead Redemption with the wide open world + GTA + Metal Gear (PlayStation) + old Ghost Recon. Loved it!!! Only issue was the cover system.
Only decision is PS4 as a solo game or Xbox co-op. Tried pulling Aircav away from Destiny last night. Didn't want a lobby of randoms. Either way getting it for sure.

I think I'm going to get it, I really liked playing co op and even solo was fun, I can see the game getting a little dull, as the missions seem to repeat a lot and the d@mn radio is horrible

LOL, literally everyone says the same thing about this game. The radio, the radio, the radio!
Honestly I thought it was kind of funny if you listen to the ridiculous stuff they were saying.
Anyway, you guys did simply click the controller button and turn it off right?

The Songs of the Cartels
The next level up is the background chatter of civilian life in Ghost Recon's Bolivia. For the audio team at Ubisoft Paris, the key here is radio. The radio is a important part of the game in the same way that it would anchor a sports title like Forza Horizon 3 or Burnout Paradise.
"Radio is really important," Soufflet explains. "Not everyone owns a TV set in Bolivia. Radio is as important in Bolivia now as it was in your society 50 years ago after the war. We figure that if a drug cartel was able to take over such a country, they would use the radio for propaganda.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands music supervisor Manu Bachet
You'll hear the radio in local shops and homes in a village. The people of digital Bolivia are living their lives in tandem with the sound of the radio, so it's all around you. Unless you're out in the middle of nowhere, you'll hear snippets of the radio playing in homes or gas stations. If you're driving your car and listening to a song or interview, you can exit your vehicle in a town and pick up the rest of that song or interview elsewhere.
In the fiction of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, the government of Bolivia has been taken over by the Santa Blanca cartel and co-opted into a narco state. Santa Blanca isn't an old school drug cartel spreading boring messages over the airwaves though. Instead, the cartel has bought and paid off a number of local celebrities. This includes the local DJs and several pop and folk music stars. Santa Blanca uses the radio to play up its image and create stories of its exploits.
DJ Perrico is the primary radio DJ in Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ubisoft has recorded a host of content for the fictional host, much like the aforementioned sports titles. Perrico has local talking segments, interviews, commercials, small jingles, and more, all focused on Santa Blanca. He'll interview cartel bosses and advertise local Santa Blanca bootcamps. The radio station also features lengthy songs Ubisoft created for the world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands: the narcocorrido.
"[Corridos] are narrative songs, very popular in Mexico," says Bachet. "There's a lot of accordion and trumpets. The rhythm most of the time is polka. There is a subgenre of corridos, named narcocorridos, which you can translate as 'drug ballad'. These are songs that tell the stories and achievements of famous smugglers."
For Ghost Recon: Wildlands, every boss has their own narcocorrido and the songs were all recorded with a real corrido band in Arizona. Together with the radio station, the corridos are intended to provide a strong South American flavor to the entire game.

So from what Klown posted, versus what the entirety of the internet is saying...
Ubisoft wasted a bunch of money on sound design that everyone just turns off/hates?

Re: Ghost recon wildlands
After playing the beta my biggest gripe besides multiplayer is that the story isn't that great you just go from one place to another and get intel kill people rescue people and extract. The game mechanics felt good the graphics were good and the concept is good but there are to many holes to get my money. If/when they add multiplayer I'll reconsider buying it. For the single player co-op is t enough.

Not hiding. In fact, I play destiny very little (tired of the same old loot mining) and play more Division instead (better lighting, changing wx, more intelligent AI, more freedom to mod wpns, etc.).

Hey! PM'd you back to say I was only going to be on Destiny for a short. Then you left the game to watch Netflix or something.
I'm getting it for XB1 (of course I am, it is the only console I have ). The beta grew on me in solo. Like the way you can run the missions however you want and in whatever order you want. Can see it would be more fun to run with a live team. Loved the varying terrain especially since it forces you to be more observant else you'll run into a hornets nest or get shot in the in your six. Hate the driving and flying - control setup is a major FUBAR for my arthritic hands. Loadout looks interesting so I can mod my wpns as I like. Tried playing with Klown's facepaint but it kept scaring the locals. The radio is kool - reminds me of the broadcasts in Division but with Latin music.
Division will probably still be my main game since they just dropped patch 1.6 and new DLC. Patch 1.6 added some new wpns (now Exotics are available) and content, and the new DLC (Last Stand) looks like it opens a new world of play. Only gripe i have is that Division DLCs (Survival and Last Stand) cost extra beyond your season pass. But with all the new stuff added over the 6 patches, there is more than enough stuff that's new without getting caught in a do-loop.
Destiny - will probably get back into that more when Destiny 2 drops.

Cool, will have to hit you up for some co-op games.
BTW, it's funny you say that about flying because I was really screwing the pooch hard on those "steal the plane"
missions (except the helicopter). I thought it was just me.
Meanwhile I was thinking man I know any guy that would name himself "Air Calvary" is loving the constant flying missions in this game. Guess not.
But that begs the question, if we run co-op who's flying? LOL

Season pass for Division should cover the three year 1 DLC in the price: Underground, Survival and Last Stand. When I activated Last Stand, I had to go to the PS Store and "buy" and then DL it, but the price was $0.00.

Strange. When I went to the store, mine showed Survival and Last Stand for $15 each and I have the Season Pass. I'll check again. Thanks Puppet.

Yeah. Stumped me too. Controls aren't intuitive. The flight direction is controlled solely by the LS and player POV is by the RS. So my mind wants to effect flight direction (either pitch or yaw) in conjunction with my LS but all I end up doing is spinning my POV 180 to look at myself in the cockpit. Not kool. Who's flying? Good question.

Yeah, I'd suggest reaching out to Ubi Massive at the official game forums to see if they can help you out. If you're not getting the DLC free as part of the season pass then you're only getting the bullshit benefits: occasional vendor rewards (DZ keys, mats, consumables) and the twice monthly LZ supply drops.
