Xbox Wifi

Ok so I have time warner cable now and internet. Im having some issues with the connection on my xbox seems im the one who has the most issues maybe the location. I wanted to ask is there a specific set up for wifi that I can do to the best out of all three Xboxes connected at one time? My brothers each have their own and theres time were all online but im the one who suffers connection issues more.

So, multiple Xboxes historically causes issue on a network. In the interest of keeping things simple, I'd just find a router that has reviews saying it works with multiple xboxes.

A quick google search showed people raving about the ASUS AC1900, and the NETGEAR Nighthawk X4 AC2350 (R7500)

wouldn't it be easier to buy a modem that allows for it?

I'm guessing that you get the modem from your cable company, correct? I had posed a similar question a while back when we switched back to Comcast from AT&T and the majority of the suggestions I got was to use the modem that was provided by the cable company because they'll cover any repairs/replacement if needed and they can better troubleshoot their own hardware. If you do that, going the route of picking up a router like Atrum suggested would be your best bet.

I just recently purchased this router and love it. You can go in the settings and set the QoS to Xbox live.

A Modem just modulates/demodulates the signal to and from your ISP.
A router can 'route' the traffic through your network, do some basic management, port control, etc.
A WAP (Wireless Access Point) send out the wireless signal to your house.

Many routers are also WAPs.
Many ISPs provide Modem/Router Combos so you don't need multiple devices.

All ISP provided combos are complete piles of sh!t and handle connection management and wireless signal very poorly.

'Optimal' setup would probably be
Buy a standalone modem, connect it to a router, run WAPs to to various locations around house for optimal wireless coverage.

Since that's expensive -

Use your ISPs modem that you rent, connect that to a router that you buy, and enjoy a much better overall connection.
