Actually got a really cool group of guys to run with tonight.  It did take a while but it was fun the whole time.  Ended up getting a 307 Fusion and 304 Gauntlets and we still have the daughters and Oryx left to do.  Hoping I can get lucky and get something else.  I have the 20 shards so that MIGHT help.  Still sitting on a 280 ghost which is beginning to piss me off, lol.

Jumped up to 297 total.

Highlight of the night...I was too excited to get the full clip but we were about to wipe (as you can tell) and us Warlocks went all zap zap on that mofo and got him JUST in time!

Really glad you had a good experience after I kept pushing the service lol. I just find it super easy. Join a game, wait for an invite and go Raiding! I found a really good group of guys last time and we knocked out the whole thing in a few hours. You can even set up your own games and leave reserve spots to make sure your clanmates can join you.

Update: We ran our weekly Raid again this weekend with a few of our regulars and some randoms we picked up on the100. Four of use had run together a few times but not fully cleared it. Kenny and I were the only 2 who have cleared it, the rest had only been as far as Golgoroth or the beginning of Sisters. About 4 hours later we cleared it! Oryx down!

Warpriest and Golgo actually went down first try each! In fact, Warpriest almost went down in two rounds!! At the start of the third round he only had a sliver of health. I popped my bubble and didn't even have time to fire a shot before he was dead.

Sisters took the longest due to some people being better at jumping that others but Oryx was about the same due to other problems here and there. Eventually everyone pulled together and got it done.

It was a good run. We messed around a good bit and still made it in at the 2 hr mark. Congratz to Puppet for his first clear! Sorry about the lack of explanation on the Oryx part, I had totally forgot you have not run it. Pretty funny we actually cleared Oryx with one guy running around who had no idea what was going on lol. First try too. Good times!

I will continue to run our weekly Normal Raid for a few more weeks until we all are comfortable with normal mode start to finish (and so I can try and run HM a few times to see what we are up against). Once I am comfortable, we'll switch over and start doing HM every week.

Yeah, this was a good time. I had a vague idea of what was going on, I just kept getting killed when you were supposed to be hoping away from the bombs. Now that I'm over 300, I'd like to run normal a couple times to get some better gear before HM.

Nice job guys! I ran it a few more times over the weekend. It's comical how many people still blow the Oryx fight.
Hard mode should be interesting. It's hard to say, but I predict some of the biggest challenges:

- Golgoroth. Obviously it's just a guess, but I imagine the 1 bubble method will be a lot less effective on hard mode.
Then again, there's usually only 2 people in every group I run that consistently hit their damage on point, so if an entire team was doing it right single bubble could stay viable

- Oryx. Daughters will see some issues with people running through the middle on their way back to platforms and getting stomped, but Oryx. When you're dodging bombs or detonating the golem blobs people are going to get wasted.

I am really interested to see the changes and what new challenges await. Biggest issues with the Raid continue to be the jumping portions. Both Jumping Ships and Daughters seems to take the longest due to requiring precise jumping. So if they really want to make it hard, all they have to do is randomize the Jumping Ships. No group would ever complete it lol!

Just making the enemies hit harder and have more HP will be hard enough considering the "no revive" thing in hard mode.

I hope they don't make it too crazy.

Has Bungie actually verified they're doing no revive for this raid too?

Honestly a couple changes that would make sense:

- Randomize the jumper for Oryx
- Every time you lose Golgoroths gaze, another level of his pillar lights up

That along with stronger enemies would make for a pretty tough raid.

No, I just assume that will be the case.

The only thing I've ever seen regarding the hard mode raid is that they designed the raid around hard mode and then toned it down for the normal raid.  So it's very possible that there won't be any crazy extra mechanics, just harder enemies.

Will be interesting to see reports on Friday while at work.

Not sure on the plan this weekend. I will be heading into the HM version of the raid tonight. depending on how things go will dictate the rest of the weekend. If we can knock it out I will be down for running our normal group on Saturday. If not maybe Sunday? maybe just take the week off? Any thoughts?

P.S. I'll be sure to update progress as we go...

I'm only 300 so I don't think I'll be very useful in HM. I might be on at some point tonight so if you need someone to carry I'd probably be up, but I have no idea if and when that might be.

As for Saturday, I have a bunch of plans with the family so I'm not sure when I'll be on that night. Looks like this weekend might be a work on the alt or play some Uncharted.

Update: ran HM tonight and got all the way to Oryx. WP was definitely a pain as I thought it would be, Golgogroth wasn't too bad and Daughters were a little trouble but not too bad. Oryx pushes up the lvl to 320 and we just didn't have the fire power to take him down. The Oryx fight will really need to be 310 + IMO.

Still, it was a lot of fun and nice to get all the way to Oryx.

As for Normal, I now plan to run a room Saturday night around 10-11pm est. I'll post up a game on the100 for those interested.

Knocked out NM mode again last night, got the experience for running the raid and not much else. All the gear helped my alt but was lesser than what my main was using.

I'd like to start running HM on our weekly runs but we need to get everyone up over 300.  305 would be ideal but 300+ should be enough.  My plan would be to run through everything up to Oryx.  You get drops for both Normal and Hard if you run Hard first every week and drops from HM start at 310 and go up to 320.  It's really the best way to get loot each week and not much harder than normal.

So I think we'll continue to run Normal until everyone is over 300.  I actually think everyone is already over 300 except Telcon and hopefully we can get him some good drops this week and we can start hitting HM next week.  Sound good?

EDIT: What day is best this week? Saturday is Halloween and some people might have plans. What works best? Friday or Saturday?

As I mentioned in our Skype, this weekend might be sketchy, but I'd be up for HM on Saturday starting late like 11 EST. My biggest concern was being underleveled trying to finish HM, but Zak feels we should be able to clear HM up to Golgaroth without too much trouble. Not having the checkpoint on the ship jump puzzle concerns me, but I wasn't last last run so there's always that.
