OU - 3 of the top 4 - 4 of the top 21.
Big 12 - Top 4 of 4 - 5 of the top 6 - 9 of the top 24
Straight domination. Florida had a good showing too - looks like at least one team fell in love with Tebow. Cowboys picking Dez was a surprise to me - their receiver corp has enough problems, hopefully Bryant doesn't just add to that drama. Bengals got a steal in Gresham.

Re: 2010 NFL draft
Yeah, I watched most of it.
I think Tebow will surprise a few people. The look on Tom Jackson's face was priceless...you could tell he was really disappointed in his old squad (14 years + 2 super bowls w/Broncos). He just sat there with his mouth open. He wants nothing to do with Tebow and was sad his team picked him. It was a strange moment...LOL

Re: 2010 NFL draft
Coolhand it doesn't mean nothing if those players bust and 6 players is nothin beat the Miami Hurricanes record 1st round with either 10-14 can quite remember but it was one of those lol. I really can't believe The Pats got out of the 22 pick and moved back to 27 that was just dumb especially with Dez Bryant and Demayrius Thomas being out there we needed a good tall WR. I think they wanted Gresham but sionce the bengals took him we moved our pick which is crap, no instead they rather go sign a washed up veteran Tory Holt WTF. Bradford is going to bust not cause of his talent but the rams will destroy him before he can even get going.
Re: 2010 NFL draft
I guess Bradford to the Rams is good since they are close by, but boy I'm worried he's going to get lit up and have his career wrecked. Hopefully he can get the ball to Donnie Avery like every single play.
Tebow... over Jimmy Clausen? Joining a QB corp with Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn? Strange. Quinn was drafted only 3 years ago at about the same spot (22nd overall). They definitely have some depth... I gotta wonder though who they plan to trade. Its obvious they are trying to bring some good character in after the giant mess with Jay Cutler. Orton is a partier too from what I've read, but I thought Brady Quinn was a straight shooter. Should be interesting to watch preseason.
I really like the Lions picks so far. Ndamukong Suh for defense and Jahvid Best to run the ball. Pretty sweet.
Smack, don't hate enjoy your new Rutgers CB

Re: 2010 NFL draft
@ Coolhand exactly what I'm talking about Bradford's a hell of a QB but with the Rams having so many problems can they keep him healthy enough to have a proactive career we all know what happen to David Carr due to his teams poor performance. You better hope they don't throw them out there to the wolves on his own lol.
Re: 2010 NFL draft
Yep lol - weird I actually typed "like David Carr" but then deleted it.

Re: 2010 NFL draft
I was happy about McCoy. The guy's a monster...not against UF a coupla years ago, but a Monster nonetheless...OU obviously had a good class in this draft. We so needed a DT though. Now hopefully we can get solid, speedy receiver that can open up the field; then, a SS and/or corner back.
I'm kinda surprised Tebow got picked early...Although I wish he went to a team with a better QB under which he can study. No disrespect to the Broncos, but Orton, is OK...and what is Brady Quinn really gonna teach him? Tebow's smart and a quick study. He has a good possibility to rise to the challenge. Of course the broncos probably should have gotten a WR in the 1st round.
Personally, I think Washington would have been a better fit for Tebow. He could have learned from McNabb, who could help him balance scrambling and passing scenarios. Of course, New England or would have great, he could have learned from Brady, given injuries might have seen significant playing time in the near future. No way he could have gone to the colts since Peyton is pretty much a rock and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Re: 2010 NFL draft
Yeah I won't bet against Tebow. The Broncs picked upt Demaryius Thomas (WR) with pick 22. Totally agree about Washington and McNabb - woulda fit like a glove.S7 Jwriter wrote:He has a good possibility to rise to the challenge. Of course the broncos probably should have gotten a WR in the 1st round.

Re: 2010 NFL draft
Jwiter Broncos did get a good WR Demaryius Thomas out of GT big strong guy that is used to physical batlle upfront and has the speed to burn CB's with his good Route running IDK why the pats didn't pik him up while they had the chance. Instead they trade their pick with dallas and Denver and both of them take the two best WR of the draft for another 7th rounder like come on we have 13-14 picks this year we're not signing them all they should be going for as many quality players as they can. What ticks me off about my pats we take McCourty an ok DB but Sergio Kindle still out there and we pass up on him anyone that watches college football knows this kid has talent and a hell of a motor and we pass up on him it pisses me off.lol Hopefully we have a better 2nd and 3rd round
Re: 2010 NFL draft
LOL...I don't know why I completely forgot about Thomas...still Tebow was a risk for the Broncos...If they needed a QB who could compete for a job, they should have picked Clausen. Tebow won't be ready for a 2 - 3 years.
Re: 2010 NFL draft
I agree he might not be ready yet but he's smart he's going to be a good football player I think he's going to prove the analysts wrong.

I think he will as well...and maybe he can learn a few things from Orton...still Clausen might have been a better fit for Denver...Wiess gave him solid NFL prep at ND.
Now, back to Bradford...I feel for him...good QB but in STL he's gonna take a beating. I hope he doesn't go the way of David Carr, but if the Rams don't get him solid protection and some receiving help, he's gonna get hurt.
Re: 2010 NFL draft
Your right J can't argue with you there lol imo I don't think they trust either Orton or Quinn lol they're just insurance till Tebow is ready. But you are right Clausen would've made a better fit for them looks like Washington or even Tampa might get him now I can't see him going to late in the first round.
Re: 2010 NFL draft
Tampa has it's QB in Freeman...so it'll prolly be a team like Washington. Tampa needs a WR like we need air cause Clayton ain't the answer...and a TE can't be our top WR. The Bucs need to get a WR (or two), DE and CS/SS. That will be a successful draft to me.
Re: 2010 NFL draft
If Denver had taken Claussen they would have two ND QBs. Not sure if that was a consideration due to disappointment over Quinn, but NFL GMs do weirder stuff than that.

Re: 2010 NFL draft
It's not the fact that the Bronco's took Tebow, it's that they traded quite a bit to get him. I think they could have waited until the 2nd round and picked him up without any deals. Or even had a shot at Claussen or even McCoy if someone else grabed Tebow. It just didn't seem like a smart move with the QB's they already have, the draft position they were in, and who was still avaliable in the draft. I guess only time will tell.

Re: 2010 NFL draft
They must have heard rumors that another team would snatch him up before their next pick. Only explanation that makes any sense, otherwise we gotta assume they are just really that stupid.

Re: 2010 NFL draft
Ralph Wilson the Owner of the of the Buffalo Bills said he says the Broncos panicked cause they thought the Bills were trying to pick him up with their next pick.
Re: 2010 NFL draft
I think Tim Tebow has potential to be a great QB with just the physical toughness and his desire to win. I just don't think he is a starter for at least 2 years but I would put him out for some pre-season games and maybe he will prove me wrong.
I didn't understand why the Chiefs would pick dexter we already have two great RB, Charles and Jones. I would have rather picked another OL or possibly Colt Mucoy because even if cassel can pull the team together an injury is always possible. Or picking a TE would have been a good choice in my opinion.
Has Colt Mucoy been picked yet? I only watched to around pick 70 then switched the channel

Re: 2010 NFL draft
Yeah I don't understand why the cheifs didn't take any QB they mut have some serious faith in Cassell or they just don't want to hurt his morale either way it was a dumb move, although it's not like the pats did anything but trade all weekend when there were so much talent out there to gain. I'm all for draft strategy but we need some more impact players via the draft not free agency. I can't believe we'll go sign old as Torry Holt and leave so many good skill players in the draft on both sides of the ball they pissed me off this draft.
