2014 NFL Draft
Todd McShay's final mock draft. I hope this happens just so I can see everybody explode around here.
Johnny Manziel
Dallas Cowboys (8-
COLLEGE: Texas A&M
Class: Soph
HT: 5-11
WT: 207
POS: QB
Analysis: I said on TV this week that if the Cowboys draft Manziel it will break Twitter, and that's what happens in this scenario. We've had more than one person in the league tell us that Manziel is believed to be the No. 1 player on the Cowboys' board, and it wouldn't surprise us if they took him here is he's still available. If Manziel is gone by this point, or the Cowboys choose not to take him, linebackers Anthony Barr, C.J. Mosley and Ryan Shazier are all possibilities with the No. 16 pick.

Sounds like something Jerry Jones would do. Give Romo WAY too much money and then a few months later draft a QB in the first round and have him sit the bench. And people wonder why the Cowboys have sucked for so long.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
I haven't liked Jerry Jones since he bought the team in 1989 and fired Tom Landry, and I'm a life long Miami Dolphins Fan. I just think there's a way to treat a legend and that wasn't it. So he came in with an ego. That said, he did get them to three (?) super bowls under his "leadership style" without a GM.
Hard to under estimate a person who has proven themselves three times before, even if he hasn't recently. Advantage: Jerry--maybe he once again knows what he's doing-- eventhough it sure doesn't seem like it.

I went to an open workout for Manny Pacquiao when he fought Joshua Clottey @ Cowboys Stadium and had the chance to see Jerry work a room. He stopped for every handshake offered and posed for pictures for everyone who asked, I walked away impressed. He's crap as a NFL GM though.

He would be a good fit there. Romo is terrible.

Or not. Dallas takes Martin. I don't blame them he was never expected to be there. Great player

LOL, Manziel to the Browns. So much for his career...unless he gets traded.

I have a soft spot for the Browns after the way they were treated (team taken). I think with some help he can turn them around a bit. I wish him luck honestly.

The NFL has never had a draft pick as well hydrated as JFF was last night. Ozarka Spring Water should sign him to a commercial deal.

I watched the draft and noticed that too. My man was beyond nervous and drinking water every few seconds. I wondered how his bladder held out...LOL

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
While there was not any Dawgs taken last night I do think that the SEC is where big boys go to play football. 11 of the first rounders were SEC players.
SEC (11)
ACC (5)
AAC (4)
Big Ten (4)
Pac-12 (3)
Big 12 (2)
MAC (2)
Independent (1)

Better weather and more lax recruiting rules will always lead to the dominance you see in the SEC. I don't expect that to change any time soon.

You won't see any meaningful drafts from OU because everyone is coming back hungry to win.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
I give him two years and then he goes away, he'll be the next Ryan Leaf. First year he'll start maybe the last 6 games and then next year he'll be the starter but they'll be terrible.OneBadHuskerFan wrote:LOL, Manziel to the Browns. So much for his career...unless he gets traded.
As for the Bears, I guess I'm happy with the CB draft. Despite having two returning Pro Bowl CBs, Peanut was only signed for a one year deal so I can see Jennings and Tillman grooming the new guy to replace Tillman next year.
