Raid Gear upgrades

Anyone have a good resource for the mats needed to upgrade raid gear?

While this poor soul does not have any yet, I would like to get a start on getting my mats in order.

I'm a Hunter if that matters.

Same thing as regular gear, just one more shard each upgrade.  7 instead of 6 on normal legendaries.

Any idea on what materials? (aside from shards obviously)

My raid gloves (Hunter) take Spinmetal. Like Husker said, it's really just like reg legendaies.

Yeah, I was aware of the shard cost. I was just hoping to do some farming during the week so I have enough nirnroot (generic term for all mats) to fully upgrade. I've done the raid 3 weeks in a row now and haven't gotten a single piece, so it would give me something constructive to do lol

That's just f'ing ridiculous.  I understand it's RNG but that makes no sense.

Oh don't get me wrong, I've gotten 2 legendary weapons and 3 exotics from it. Along with a good amount of shards, shader, and a ship.

The weapons are awesome, I'm just hoping to someday get some raid armor.

Question for people that are getting raid gear...

Do any of them have Int and Disc on them?  I got a chest piece but it has STR and I don't use STR for my guy.  Or are the raid pieces just completely random?

My prime zealot gloves have:
defense 229
light 18
intelect 0
discipline 39
strength 43

Need to level them up.

From what i understand, the same gear could have different upgrade materials. For exam, a legendary gloves could require spin metal, but another could require spirit bloom even if it's the same name. However, i think this is only the case for dropped gear and not vender purchased gear.

After doing a little research on the subject (checking out Reddit of course) it looks like raid gear can come with any combination of INT, DISC and STR so I guess I'll hold off on the chest piece I got and hope for one with INT and DISC.

Same here except I haven't even gotten an exotic. The only thing I've gotten besides shards/energy is the legendary auto rifle the final boss drops. I feel like I'm going to be stuck at 29 forever.

We gotta get people to 29 so we can start doing hard mode runs and get double drops

Or just do what I'm doing and create 2 more of the same character.  Then when I get them to 20 I can just switch out my gear and run stuff 3 times instead of once.  It's just a matter of getting them to 20.

Originally I wanted 3 different classes but too much time has to be put into getting them the best stuff...so I'm just going to cheese it for one character.

That is really hardcore Husker!

I like that my stats are balanced across int, dis, and str.  I use all skills so it works well for me.  It also prevents any of them from hitting the cap and wasting the extra.

I never thought about it either until I saw that that's what the top tier raiding guys were doing.  I'm not trying to be a top tier guy but might as well do that and reap some of the benefits.

Yeah I have actually been complaining about it a bit that after I run the raid once I basically sit and farm shards for the week. A new character will be fun. I'm not interested in changing classes, so that works out fine for me.
