GTAO

So, I have been reading up on GTAV, and more specifically GTAO (GTA Online) and I have been really impressed by what I have seen.  I am curious how many people here are planning on picking this up? 

For those of you unfamiliar, GTAO is actually a stand alone online modes shipping with GTAV (9/17) and officially launching sometime in October.  Rumor has it that it will actually be available as a separate title down the road but is included with every copy of GTAV.  It will take place in San Andreas (for now) and may expand to include the entire GTA universe.  It's a very ambitious undertaking and similar to a GTA MMO.  It will be full of over 500 missions at launch.  Some of which will be solo and others will require a crew.  Think of the heists in the SP but with a live crew happening in real time co-op.  You can buy property, cars, and have a bank account etc... 

The game world will be populated by friends and crew first and then filled in with other people of similar skill.  Now I am not entirely sure how any of this will fully work out but the idea of a crew and pulling large scale jobs has me excited and I would love to get a S7 Crew set up and running.  So, who's planning on getting this game?

• There’s over 500 missions – some solo and some requiring a team.
  
• It takes place after the events of GTA 5.
  
• Players will need to do “whatever it takes to get more money in the bank” and procure assets like cars and real estate.
  
• Characters appear in cutscenes when interacting with other characters .
  
• Female characters can be used in GTA Online.
  
• Activities in the core game are also included such as: “heists, missions, robberies, assaulting gang hideouts, hijacking armored vehicles, races, tennis, golf and base jumping”.
  
• Biker gangs can support you during missions if you’re on good terms with them.
  
• Rockstar uses a “dynamic” system to populate GTA Online and “”there are options to let the game decide who to play with… or you can hand pick every player in the game”.
  
• There’s a crew ranking system and a personal rank.
  
• Starting skills are based on chosen lifestyles, and can be upgraded along with your character’s look.
  
• The crew leader will decide who keeps the loot after a mission is completed.
  
• Players can kill you and take your cash, so its best to make use of ATM machines as often as possible. Purchases can still be made using the money even if it’s in the bank.
  
• If you are robbed, you can put a bounty on said player.
  
• You can invite friends to your home and drink, call strippers, watch TV shows , etc.
  
• Missions are controlled through Rockstar’s Social Club, which means the developer tweak them regularly.

I'm getting it Gamefly'd.  Not really many games between now and the XB1 launch that I'll be playing other than Diablo III, GTAV and F1 2013 when it comes out next month.

Since I probably won't get a next gen for a while I'll probably pick up GTA at some point.

This will definitely be my main game for the 360 for the foreseeable future.

You also have access to sports like Tennis and Golf.  Apperantly both are like full versions of Top Spin or TigerWoods rather then just mini games.  Cool stuff.  GTA will own my soul.

Sounds like they learned from some red dead redemption stuff and added a sh1t ton to the GTAO. Can't wait for this. I'm not so upset about getting an xbo right away because of this game.

The only thing that bothers me is that the game will require it to be installed to the hard drive.  As my hard drive is an original one with not much space left on it I really don't want to have to delete apps and things I have on there just to fit the game.

Picking it up at launch as well. Will mostly be my last 360 game I will purchasing this year. Bf4 doesn't count because that is getting upgraded to the nexgen when it releases.

A bit bummed that I will have to wait a few weeks to play online though. Had a bunch of fun with S7 (may have been BBF back then) playing free mode when GT4 launched.

Ill also be picking this game up on Tuesday...game of year maybe?

Logged on thinking it would be just like the gta 4 launch with a bunch of us goofing off in exploration, realized no one was on and found this thread sad :/
