HLS #3 - D-Class
Presenting the Hot Lap Series #3 - D-Class
Details:
Track: Suzuka Circuit - East
Class: D
Start: 6/25/13
End: 7/18/13 D-class tournament start ends this event
To submit your times, just post up on here in something resembling the following format:
HOW STANDINGS WORK:
We're going to go with lowest total time raced for this event. At the end of the season we will total up all of your lap times, and the person lowest overall time takes the win.
***If you miss an event, you will take a 1 second penalty - added to the last place time.
E-class Event Results
Interseptor - 52.482 - Lotus Eleven
Husker - 52.727 - Ford Pinto
Atrum - 52.867 - Ford Pinto
Xpert - 53.320 - Lotus Elan
Apex - 53.639 - Porsche 550
The E-class event was VERY close for everyone. Xpert made some massive gains in his times, Apex didn't post up many laps and ended up with a fast time, but not fast enough for a podium. We didn't have as many people post up, but with an extra long gap until the next tournament look for a lot of participants.
Season Standings:
Interseptor - 2:05.296
Husker - 2:05.672
AtrumX - 2:07.217
Apex - 2:07.707
Xpert - 2:08.680
KnightOwl - 2:11.926
Kenny - 2:12.526
OC - 2:13.984
Things are VERY close already. The only big gaps have come from no-shows. Other than that the field remains extremely close.
D-Class Current Standings
Husker - 58.427 - Lotus Elan
Interseptor - 59.4xx - Lotus Eleven
Atrum - 1:00.1xx - Mazda MX-5 Gen 1
Apex - 1:00.4xx - Something?
- Code:
These events will take place over a 2 week time period. Basically, from 1 season event to the next. Being that our first event is 2 (ish) weeks off it's time for the first event. The goal of this event is to post the fastest lap time on a pre-selected track, in a pre-selected class. You MUST HAVE PROOF of your time. Also, it has to be within this time period. That means if you ran the track 3 seconds faster than everyone 2 years ago, you do not win. For proof, your best option is either a pic of the screen (quality can be bad, just needs to be legible) or a saved video of the race.

Re: HLS #3 - D-Class
Nice! I have 0 clue what a good time is on this track. I'm guessing anything sub 60 seconds will be pretty killer, which I like.

Re: HLS #3 - D-Class
Yeah, the sub 1 min will be a killer time. I did a good number of laps last night and 1:00.4 was the best I could manage if that tells you anything. 0:59.XXX is my personal goal, which will not be easy to obtain.

Re: HLS #3 - D-Class
Well, I pulled a 0:59.4xx last night in my Lotus Eleven. Might try a few more cars too but I don't think it's possible to catch that Elan (without using an Elan or Spark).

Re: HLS #3 - D-Class
I posted a 1:00.1xx with my Mazda MX-5 Gen 1
I'm going to have to try a few different tunes and see if I can get it faster. With this current tune I'd be lucky to break in to the 59.8xx range.
I did run a generic spark tune I had made and quite easily broke in to the 59s range. Not using that for the competition though. Too easy-mode

I trust this isn't your tourny car Husker? Are you "that" guy?

LOL, no, I don't plan on using it in the tourney...maybe!Lickwid Apex wrote:OneBadHuskerFan wrote:Yep, I went there.

I haven't had time to try anything else earlier in the week so I just played with the Elan on some tracks where it had great times and threw my old setup on it. I will be looking at other cars when I get back from vacation.

Be careful not to touch anyone in the elan, a strong gust will send it into the wall.

Re: HLS #3 - D-Class
Yeah, I ran the elan for our first forza 4 season in d-class. I remember doing awesome except for: one track where I rolled the car because I touched what I can only assume was a ladybug. Obviously enough to flip it.OneBadHuskerFan wrote:Or, you know, barrel roll when hitting a one inch high curb, lol
And then regular contact with other drivers. The back wheel would slide out just a bit and someone behind me would accidentally tap me, and that's that. Backwards in the track.
IMO the Elan becomes much better as the # of racers gets lower. 15 people out there and you'll probably get murdered at some point unless you start in the front.

I was going to say what I drove to set that time. But the element of mystery is kinda fun.
Re: HLS #3 - D-Class
Lol, and I haven't been able to check the leaderboards yet. For now, I should have put a VW Bora in for it.

Was just some car I quickly bought, upgraded and tuned with a few minutes. I'm thinking I'll try to get more serious about this later today and tomorrow before the tournament starts. Definitely need to get some practice in as I haven't raced since the last tournament.

Yeah, we made an impromptu choice the other night after the Tourney. Nurburgring GP Short is what we had settled on. I am sure Atrum will update soon.
