Need a little pc advice
Looking to upgrade my pc.
Current set up:
Windows 7
i7 3.4 quad
8G DDR3 Ram
GT 440 graphics card
Can't remember what kind of power supply I have but I think it was a stock 500 watt.
I am trying to upgrade my rig a bit, specifically the video card as that is the biggest bottleneck on my rig.
Been shopping around online but I feel a bit out of touch with vid cards.
I found this particular card earlier today and was thinking about picking it up...
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=356682&csid=_61
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Go with the Geforce 560ti
It's by far the best performance to cost card out on the market right now.
It's a little more spendy, but definitely worth the step up as it will last you until your next PC build. Especially with an i7 and 8GB of RAM.

Re: Need a little pc advice
Checked out the card, Unfortunately the price is significantly higher than the 550. Think I might just wait a little while longer for the price to come down. I also found this card on newegg as well...

The 660 isn't quite up to par with the 560ti but it's still definitely a solid buy. If you're itching for a new card, that's a solid option.

ya i was reading more into it and it seems that really the only new gen thats even worth it is the 680's series
between the 560 and 660 its almost the same .
so it looks for me ill be sticking with my 560ti for now at least ... which in the end i should just be happy as like i said i run every new game out just fine and maxed out , other then bf3 i run that on high setting still ......
btw bf3 alot funner on pc

So, you'll basically just wait wait for an 860 to come out then...?

as it stands i do great with my 560 so from a gaming point i dont feel the needs to buy a 680 let alone 2 dont get me wrong they are epic cards and im sure they never drop frames.... just at this point of time with going to school full time along side working full time my money is better off going to hookers and blow aka bills

I'm not ragging on you, I'm just saying by that time, there'll be newer cards that have the same performance, for less heat/power/DX12/etc.

Re: Need a little pc advice
Too bad I don't have a whole lotta money to spend after moving into new place. Oh well, my computer runs just fine anyway. No real need to upgrade or build a new one just yet.

Yeah, I was pretty tempted to SLI mine as well. Going to pass on it for now as it runs just fine as is.

Re: Need a little pc advice
I am still looking for a new card at a good buy. Been checking Amazon, tiger direct, and newegg almost daily. If anyone happens to see a good buy let me know. Looking to spend no more than about 150$.

Re: Need a little pc advice
Finally decided on a card....
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009KUT3D6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Not the best card by any means but for the price and specs it will do nicely!

Re: Need a little pc advice
Looks good! I like EVGA and 128bit is enough.
A good benchmark - in the top 40 on this list of high end cards. I really like the price too.
