Campaign is GREAT!!

Finished SP last night. Took my time and it was worth it. Great story and some new kool action.

I will not spoil it with a lot of details but suffice it to say that there are mucho new kool weapons and some really intense battles - the COD trademark. I played on Normal but after completing it, I can see that higher modes are certain death warrants. LOL

One thing that is new is the Strike Force missions. They pop up in between regular missions but you have to come out of the story and select them to play in Replay Mission mode in order to get them done. If you don't, they will become "unavailable" after you complete so many campaign missions in story mode. (First weird twist.) Now the second twist is that your performance in them, i.e. success and number of challenges completed, helps to shape the story. This is a link to the overall game development strategy that your decisions during the story will spawn various branches and sequels in the story, i.e. change story and character play to include different possible endings.

In all it was kind of kool and makes me want to play SP again with different decisions to see how the story reshapes.

SP - best COD yet. Now I will play MP and Zombies to see how that goes. Can't wait to try some of the new weapons in MP I've seen in SP.

Sort of strange that you were able to knock it out in one sitting...unless that sitting was 7-8 hrs.?

Normally I don't play the COD campaign until long after the release (I still have not played the one for MW3), but the branching story and missions has me interested. Between this, Zombies, Multiplayer, and still wanting to get time in for Diablo and Halo 4 I am going to have to cut my sleep down at least 75%. LOL.

To me the story in the first BO was the best, so I'm looking forward to this one.

@Miller - I haven't played the SP for MW3 either.

I checked the tracker for my game and it's still showing that my game left the seller yesterday and is en-route. I'm pretty sure the ETA of Monday will be correct, which blows my ass since there's a double XP weekend this weekend and my wife works both days and I'm off. Oh well, that's what I get for being cheap and choosing the free shipping. I did the same with BF3 and got it release day with Amazon but this time they have the free one at 3-5 days.

I'd be up on dropping $5 or whatever it is to rent the game locally for the Sat-Sun weekend- if you can find it.

Got her last night. Only played a few games--and 3/7 were 24/7 Nuketown . Love that map!!!
Anyway, didn't even start the SP but the MP seems pretty well laid out. Only disappointment--No Team Defender ???

Was it renamed? Did I miss it? or was it substituted for the king of the hill game mode I saw?

Hate to double post and answer my own questions- but I found that "team defender" and "infected" were indeed scratched. I really loved team defender more than anything. Gave you an objective without the constant camping that happens with some. It forced your team to move as one unit or lose the flag, momentum, points, and eventually the game. It even gave you "team points" for being a good team player and holding the flag eventhough everyone else was out murdering the world racking up points. Which you still could too even with the flag.

Now I need a new mode to love.
Any suggestions?
