Forza 4 - Season 2 Discussion

That would be fine with me since I work Thursday nights now and even when I switch to working Thursday mornings I won't have to be up until like 6-6:15 so that should be good then too.

Ok, this will be my first official Forza season with you guys, so you race from the F class up,right? I want to know what cars to work on first. Also, any rules on the type of car, or as long as it is from the correct class done anything go?

9:30 is a litte late for me to start but I should be able to handle it.

@ Cryptik - Yes, we start at F-Class and work up to R3. We will race every two weeks giving people time to work on cars before the event. The only restriction is the car class and I will post up the event details before every Tourney.

@ OC - I hear ya but remember that it usually only takes about an hour to run the whole Tourney once we get started. We might just have to put a firm start time of 9:30pm. Much like the season schedule, no exceptions. We start at 9:30, if you can't make it in time you can join when possible.

Wednesday @ 9:30 works for me too as long as it's a firm starting time.

So far no objections to Wednesday @ 9:30pm (firm). Speak now or forever hold your peace. If we change the date and time, it will not change again until next season so be sure you speak up if you have a problem.

We just have a sticky with all dates/classes for the season when that post does go up.

Yeah, I will make a major Season 2 post with the dates and times of each event and sticky it to the top of the forum. Once we have everything worked out that is. I will wait a few more days before anything is set in stone and give everyone time to read the posts/discussion. Once everything is finalized we will also need to determine an official start date.

OK! So it has been several days and no one has voiced an objection to the new day/time of Wednesdays @ 9:30pm sharp. Now we just need to pick an official start date and we can get things rolling. After looking at a calendar my personal suggestion would be to start on Wednesday, October 24. By doing so we get to skip the week of X-Mas which just makes things easier. Especially with our new firm schedule/no exceptions rule. Here is what the schedule would look like.

Oct 24 - F-Class
Nov 7 - E-Class
Nov 21 - D-Class
Dec 5 - C-Class
Dec 19 - B-Class
Jan 2 - A-Class
Jan 16 - S-Class
Jan 30 - R3

Take a look and be sure it looks ok to you. Once we agree it will be final. Let me know what you guys think.

I have heard this many times where it's said, for example, "8:15 sharp people!" and then it turns into "ok, let's wait 15 more minutes" and then "ok, I just recieved a text and he'll be here in 10 minutes". Just sayin, it's bound to happen in at least three of these races

PS: That's why we're doing a set schedule and time for this season. That made it a pain for people who think it starts late as is. 20 minutes of waiting made it a lot later. So the policy this year is "Race on these dates, solid start time, if someone is late we will get them in between races."

Exactly. And that is what this discussion is for. We are making policy for this season. We all agree and that is going to be the way it is. Events start at 9:30pm. No waiting, no restarts for someone 5 mins late. If you are late that is on you and you will miss however many races you miss because of it. Likewise, connection issues will need to be worked out before the race. If you are having trouble connecting to others you need to be early to get that resolved before the race starts. We will start on time with who ever has been waiting in the lobby.

I will almost always be there at least 30min to and hour early to make the room and get everything ready and resolve any issues before the official start time. I recommend everyone show up a little early if possible. Otherwise, if we have everyone in the room, including the infamous Xpert, and you can't connect we will go without you. We are not going to make others (like Xpert) backout so you can get in and then try to get him in again. It takes time and is not fair to the people who showed up early to get in. Some people have problems connecting with others. It's a fact. If you are one of the people who have trouble connecting with Xpert and vise versa be sure to show up early. We will be starting on time, I'll see to it personally.

OK. So several days and once again no objections so this will be the official schedule going forward for Season 2

Wednesdays @ 9:30pm sharp. No excuses. Season starts on Wednesday October 24th 2012. I will post up a full write up with all the rules and schedule soon. It will be stickied all season long so you can always check it if you are unsure about a date.

Really excited for Season 2. We are only two weeks away so you better start getting ready!

It all looks good to me. Hopefully my router settings are fixed up enough to be able to join the lobby again. Might not be around for second race as I'll be moving to Iowa around that time. Maybe I'll be more lucky with my internetz in Iowa. I wasn't originally going to bring my Xbox to Iowa because it seemed more like a temporary deal, but now it definitely feels more permanent, so Xbox is tagging along.

Xpert, I'd say just be sure to get there way early so you're in the lobby from the start!

lol, but then it would only me and the host racing because nobody else woul be able to connect with me! I'll basically wait until the specified time to join... and if I can't get in then I just won't race that session. If people show up before the start time and can't join the lobby because of me, then I'll leave and try to fix my sh1t. If people want to join after the start time and can't because of me... well... EXACTLY! We can be reasonable up until start time and try to get everyone in but once we start that is it. We want everybody to be able to race but we also want to start on time. We are not doing this to be asses about it. We just can't sit around for 30 mins because someone shows up late. We will do everything we can up until the start of the first race.

If multiple people are having connection issues are we going with first come first serve? Majority first? Or?
