Breakout Tourney Thoughts

Since we don't have a GC for this game, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts would be for a Breakout Tourney for GR. The game has been out for about 3 weeks so most of us have gotten to put in some quality hours (Coolhand and Husker have put in some fanboy hours ) and have gotten a feel for the maps, how it plays, and what class(es) were most likely to use.

I'm not sure how much interest there would be for a tourney in the near future, but I'd be interested in some type of Conflict team tourney where we either randomly pick teams or do some kind of schoolyard pick. While I'm by far not the best player in this game I feel more comfortable with it than any of the COD games and I think I'd be more useful and have more fun in a tourney for GR.

I just thought I'd throw this out there and see what everyone was thinking.

I wouldn't mind participating in a tourney. It's been a long time since I've been in a tournament for a game that I'm good at (excludes Forza). I think the Call of Duty 2 tournament was the only one that I had attended...

This would probably work for me. I have to check my schedule as to which day works better and I'd prefer Conflict but I'm down for this weekend most likely. It's been a while since I've hit a non-Forza tourney.

Sounds good to me should be great fun.

I work Friday night and Saturday morning so my vote would be for Saturday night if we're going to run it this weekend.

BUMP: I've added a poll to try and determine what day would work best for this tourney. I realized after I set it up and placed my vote that I didn't give an option for neither or other, so I guess if the poll days don't work you'll just have to post up your opinion. We'll have to hammer out the final details about time and rules, but this should get it started.

Saturday night is probably best my only question is how many people are going to be able to be be on a team because I don't think we have yet tried a private match between all of us

Either day is fine for me but I voted for Saturday because it seemed more people could make that date. The more important question for me is what time? A late night tourney would not work out well for me as I have to be up early on both Saturday and Sunday. I am hoping we could get started around 9pm or 10pm. What works for you guys?

I should be available anytime on Saturdays. For Friday, I'm usually available after 6pm CST. Since the clan usually does activities after 7pm CST, I won't have any problems attending either day.

Any time works for me on the weekends. Obviously prefer nights.

And did we decide on the gametype?
My vote would be for Conflict or Siege.

Siege would be a blast. I know it's a bit rough vs the public but we're all really in the same place (not knowing the siege locations, nade points, etc) so it might be a blast.

I'm in, post a time and I'll attend. The only thing that would keep me from joining would be if the spouse wants some help moving furniture.

I would be down for either also. Siege could be fun because we really don't know what we are doing.

I'm up for either but prefer Sat. night. I'll be going to a memorial service for a friend of mine Sat. afternoon and will need something to take my mind off of things.

I am sorry to hear that Husker. Do you have a preference on game mode?

I'm up for whatever. I don't ever play Siege because I've never been good a no-respawn game types but with just us playing it could be fun.

Noob siege would be fun/interesting.

I haven't played siege either, might have to try it Friday night when I get on. I also haven't looked at the private game menu/options. Siege might be cool if when can adjust the game time length, 15 min is a long time just to set there. If we can adjust some settings then I say we play a quick siege tourney with a best of 3 and the 1 best over all player from from each team be the captians and they pick their players school yard wise and the winning team captian gets to pick the first map. I would also like to say if we play conflict we could go by total score vs match wins and say the first team to reach a total of 2000 points wins the tourney and you have to win by 100 points and then if say within 7 games this is not achieved then we switch to Seige. Now the scores and numbers posted are just random, but going of score might be funner then win loss even if the end result is kinda the same (if they are close matchs). IDK what do guys think

Too many cooks? I think we need to decide who is going to head up this little shindig and move on from there. Anyone want to take the reigns and run with it? I think we also need a rough head count so we can estimate the number teams needed etc... From there, the person running the event can help decide the game mode, rules, team size and how the teams are generated. Otherwise we are just going to be running around in circles. This was originally Puppets idea. Want to run the show Puppet?

I don't disagree we need to discuss. We should all give our thoughts, suggestions and ideas. It's just that I think things would go smoother if we had someone in charge of the event. You? Me? Puppet? Makes no difference to me. Maybe I am wrong but I think we need someone to head up the event and run things. Get everything organized, decide on the details, make official post etc...

My personal thoughts for the discussion is that we should find someone to head things up.
