Diablo Auction House info

Interesting stuff here. I honestly hope this is a failure on the real cash side (but do not think it will be) as I feel this is going to be a good cash grab for Blizzard and something that they can not pull off on consoles. Therefore if it is a success = no console port.

A console version could just have an in-game gold auction house rather than both. They are separate.

I know, but that would take out some of Blizzards revenue stream, thus why if the real money one is super successful, I doubt Blizzard would want to water down their pool of potential profits. IMO.

Well, for the consoles they could do a token thing like in Forza where you use Microsoft points on tokens and then use the tokens to buy cars. I think that this is actually a good idea though. I know people would use real money to purchase items from those sketchy websites that would end up stealing information and whatnot. This seems like a more safe way for those who don't want to earn their sh1t in the game and Blizzard puts more money in their pockets.

Not making a console port would cut down profit I would think. The real cash auction house is an additional revenue stream. Taking one piece out does not equal loss.

ITS BLIZZARD they like money and go NOM NOM NOM

I know they will sell more titles, but that is not a continuing revenue stream like the auction house. If they predict they can make more money staying with the auction house over watering down the users on a one time purchase, I don’t see them adding the port to any consoles. Again, just my opinion looking at the business side (remember- no matter what they say they don’t make games for the fans but to make the company money).

no doubt and the auction house is going to make more money i think then the sell's in the game

as in the beta alone that thing was booming and it was not even for real money yet... and if it like wow we will see alot of people boting for gold and items
