Armored Core V
Not sure if there are any other mech fans but Armored Core V is actually looking very impressive. Basically plays like a fast paced Chromehounds. It's got a similar overhead map, and a ton of customization.
I'll probably be picking it up and fitting it in when not playing GR:FS

Re: Armored Core V
I was a huge MechWarrior/BattleTech fan back in the day so I might try to rent this one to see how it plays. My friends and I used to play BattleTech at one of the places with the cockpit simulators where you got the combat printout afterwards listing the blow by blow for the matches. We didn't go to this place but it was something similar:

Sweet video - the Operator role sounds cool for teams like ours that communicate well.

Re: Armored Core V
I think I actually will be getting 3 free months of gamefly here this week, so I'll get it from there.

Re: Armored Core V
Just FYI - GF is excellent about getting games out at launch if you have an open spot ready to go but it can take some time to get a game that is already out. Especially if it is recently released because the availability is low. For example, I missed the launch date of this game by 1 day so I had to wait almost another week before they shipped it. Just giving you the heads up so you can get the ball rolling ASAP.AtrumX wrote:I think I actually will be getting 3 free months of gamefly here this week, so I'll get it from there.
P.S. I love GameFly and for me it's totally worth it.

Review from IGN.com (7.5 - Good)- http://ps3.ign.com/articles/122/1221168p1.html

The customisation is awe-inspiring, letting you change every tiny detail and make your own emblems and decals. There's a shop full of hundreds of different mech parts that unlock gradually as you go along, from fairly normal rifles and cannons through to giant laser cannons, Howitzer missiles, defensive shields, melee weapons, boosters, tank-treads, targeting computers and much more. Changing your mech configuration completely changes the way that you play the game. It's like Forza for people who love giant robots.

Re: Armored Core V
Where is Kenny on this one? Surely he would like a giant fighting robot game from a Japanese game developer.

Re: Armored Core V
I would think any of the guys that played Chromehounds would be in to this. Especially since it's basically CH + MW

Re: Armored Core V
I've played my share of past Armored Core games and I would be up to play more of them, but lately I put gaming itself pretty much on shelf.
All I really do is play LoL and watch anime.

I've been thinking about getting this one but was on the fence. Didn't know if anyone else would be playing it.

Re: Armored Core V
If we end up with a good following I might get into it. I've gotta get some of the games I'm working on tied up before GR: FS comes out.

Re: Armored Core V
Should have it today or tomorrow if anyone else has it, hit me up. Of course I will be playing a lot of Forza today and tomorrow as well but I should definitely be trying to figure everything out this weekend. I hear it has a steep learning curve so I am gonna have to really dive in at some point.

So what is the final tally - how many have or will have it? I may pick it up this weekend.

Re: Armored Core V
I put this in my GameFly que as I sent back Resident Evil. I need something to fill the gap before Witcher 2 comes out.

Re: Armored Core V
Good deal Miller, I am also killing time till Witcher 2. I will be glad to have someone to mess around with too. It has not really impressed me so far but it is not really a single player game. You really need at least 2 people to play. Talk about builds, bounce ideas off of and play missions online, without playing with randoms. Let me know when you get it.

Re: Armored Core V
GF didn't send Armored Core, and instead sent me Kingdoms of Alamur. I'll be playing for a bit, and will send it back in time to get Witcher 2.

Re: Armored Core V
Sorry to hear it isn't very good. I guess I will skip it then. Why can't they just make a new Mech Warrior?
