Battlefield 3 Beta Launches Today

The Battlefield 3 beta opens today for those who pre-ordered the PC game through Origin, EA's digital distribution platform, and for those who purchased the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor.

Keys, granting access to the beta, will be sent out by EA from early afternoon onwards.

"Please don't ask about 'when do I get my email' etc," said gameplay designer Gustav Halling. "We don't know, this is an automated system that sends a bunch out every hour starting around lunch today."

If you don't get a code, you will have to wait till Thursday when the Beta goes public. It runs until October 10. Hopefully we can get a real taste of what is to come and how well it is going to work for us as a clan.

PC only beta, or is coming to consoles on Thursday as well?

The Beta is for both as I understand it.

Keys will be sent out from "around 1pm-3pm CET on PC and Xbox 360," said Battlefield community manager Daniel Matros (12pm-2pm in the UK).

This is for the early beta today but it should be open to everyone on Thursday.

the switching from squad chat to whole team is cool alot of people are in party chat still


the only con is the way u get into a squad like ill send you an invt and it says u have joined my squad how ever there is like no lobby system showing you in my lobby but you are if you go to the in game friends list (much like h2)

And how are the infamous console graphics everybody is worried about? Does it look amazing?

from what i have seen they did a good job ....
ya im sure the pc version is better as it can handle better ....

but ya they did a good job

well squad thing still sucks


other then that being able to talk to your whole team is nice since its still closed beta till tomorrow i have not ran into alot of trash talking kids...

graphic are good for this game .(not as good as it is on pc but still good)

the sound Fx is by far the best in this game with my headset on you can really hear bullets fly past your head hit a metal wall behind and hear the metal PING ....

so far i have stuck to my favorite class the medic/assault class
like all class you start off having to lvl and unlock things that get alot better and funnier along the way...

the bad side is you have to lvl the same class really twice as you play as Americans and another team so you lvl the m16(start rifle) and when u switch side you lvl the ak-74


i for one love it today me and chattem finally got into a game were we were on the same team and the same squad it was great having the classes work as one as it leads to PWNING and that leads to WINNING DUHHHHHHH...


how ever there is no lobby system at all!!! there is a in game friends list like H2 had you hit start and invt people into your squad once its all full or you ready to roll the squads host can start the game (keep in mind your in his squad but your not in a lobby like cod has ) but you will start the game once the host finds one.

right now like with any beta its hard to make it into a game as a team .. but once you find it its none stop one game ends 30secs another starts....


all and all i love this game and i will play the hell out of it but again i think this game is going to be dead by the time mw3 comes out lets face it cod has always been the easiest game as far as i got a team of 4 or hell a team of 8 and i want to play all at once boom your in a game ....

if your not fan of bf like me i would still say gamefly /rent it ... it is alot of fun and once we get a map with tank jets UAV's and so once it can only get funner then if you dont like it mw3 is coming up
