Sweet, I've been looking for an excel version.
When I use a calculator I've still been using

Any idea if there's a big difference between the two?

The one from that site is based off an older version of this same calculator. The beauty of the Excel one is you can tweak some of the calculations to fit your driving style, and also much more detailed for transmissions
If you go to the forum link I posted, it shows basic instructions in the first post as well.

Nice, it seems pretty straightforward but I did notice a lot more options for gearing and launch.

This looks pretty sweet and the instructions seem pretty easy to follow. I'll have to try this out and see if I can tune an A class that's worthy of racing in the tourney using it. I think this will be a better tuner than the one I'm currently using, so here's to hoping.

I tried this out on an A class that I had been tinkering with but just couldn't get right and managed to increase the acceleration and the top speed by about 10mph. I like that this calculator helps to set the gearing too, because that's something I was just kind of guess and checking on. Maybe I will be able to field a solid car for the tourney.
