S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
Well, we are nearing the halfway mark on Season 3 and things are still as close as ever...
Forza News -
Last week marked the 3rd race of the season and things are really heating up. We had some heated and intense races as we see the season start to take shape. Lots of tough rivalries and good racing. There were a few more bumps last week than I like to see and things got a little tense. Let try to keep it clean out there. Special congratz to PootyPoo for making his first race of the season. He finally got his internet fixed and put in some impressive laps. Pooty finished a solid 3rd for most of the night and even threatened the lead a few times. I look forward to seeing what he can do as we move forward. Sticky also had a good night and only missed 3rd place by 2pts. Very close! But when all was said and done the final standings looked like this: 1st - Interseptor, 2nd - Wiggles, 3rd - PootyPoo, 4th Sticky, 5th - Atrum, 6th - Kenny, and a TIE for 7th with Coolhand and Epic.
Overall Standings are as follows...
Interseptor - 28pts
Wiggles - 26pts
Sticky - 20pts
Epic - 16pts
Kenny - 13pts
Pooty - 11pts
Chippy - 9pts
Coolhand - 6pts
Atrum - 5pts
OC - 4pts
Still very close out there. 8pts separate 1st from 3rd with the rest of the pack vying for position. The rest of this season promises to be a good one. Stay tuned as the tense Season 3 rolls on...
As we head into C-Class, we mark the halfway point in the overall season. It's time to really kick it up a notch as we start to get into the faster cars and heavier tuning. More parts, better cars and high speed await. Better bring your A-game. We will have two weeks from this Thursday to prepare (taking this week off for the launch of Dirt 3) for the S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3. Get out there! Build, tune, paint and be ready to race.
Here are the details for this event:

Well, my net appears to have gone down. So, it's unlikely you'll see me and my sweet-ass S5 tonight. So, 3rd for the season should be Sticky's to lose now. Give OC my Quali spot if I don't make it.

Well, we only have 4 of us show up so we decided to postpone for another 2 weeks. Is there still interest in continuing this season? Post up and let me know if you can make it in two week or if you even want to.

Re: S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
Is this open to anyone with Forza and a C-class car? If it is, I might be interested in building a car for some races. I've only had the game a couple weeks and I'm not a stellar driver, but I'd enjoy giving it a try if I can.

As long as you can drive without auto-brake and race cleanly, you're welcome to enter.

Make it an endurance race, last team with a functioning car on the track wins. That would be tons of fun to see everyone's pretty cars look like they've gone thru a demo derby.

Re: S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
Actually the rules are for guys new to the game if they race with auto brake they willl be allowed for a tourney but after that it is recommended that they practice with out the auto brake so they can race all tourneys with out it.
You are more than welcome to join us Puppet on occation when we have more than 8 racers we have to have a qualifier to limit it down to eight.

I thought it was banned this season, due to the amount of accidents it/Chippy caused?

Re: S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
It is set to off but when we met to make that ruleing we also said we would make exceptions for new racers in their first tourney or so. So that they would feel more comfortable in racing with us.

Re: S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
I hadn't played the game too much, so when I saw the posting I turned it off and have been practicing with manual vs. auto trans, since I didn't know if there's a restriction on that. Anyways, I have put in more wheeltime with auto-brake off, so that shouldn't be a problem. However, it looks like I'm going to miss this tourney due to work, but I'll probably be on after 11:30 to race if anyone misses the tourney or has post tourney road rage they need to get out of their system.

Auto trans is what most of us race with if you prefer manual go for it but it's not required

Re: S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
Only little girls in their pink tutu's race with an automatic transmission. Seriously, I thought more of you would use manual since you can get better performance out of the car.

In real life, I drive an automatic cuz I'm lazy and spend too much time doing city driving where I think it's a pain to have a manual.

Re: S7 Forza 3 C-Class Tourney - Season 3
Manual transmission gets you an extra couple of seconds per lap on longer circuits as well as giving you better traction through and out of corners, so it can be an advantage to use it. However, when the pressure is on and you're wheel to wheel or taking a fast corner, the auto is a lot less likely to cost you time than a bad gear change.
If I had the free time required to nail manual, i'd race it..but I don't, so i'll just keep it for the season mode where I have rewinds, lol.

Manual with clutch is where the real advantage is. No way am I going to spend the time/effort to relearn forza to gain a few seconds. Not on forza 3 anyway lol
