Smilies in quick reply?

In case people haven't noticed over the years, I'm a smiley freak. I put smilies in nearly every post. Anyways, in the quick reply at the bottom of threads, we have the options to put in smilies but when you try to add them, it opens up the full reply screen and erases whatever you had typed prior to the smiley. Anyway to get the smilies working for quick replies?

If you want smiley's or other linking/editing options.. u must use the full reply... the quick reply is just for well... like says a quick text reply
